No man is an island. When one person is lost, we are all diminished. I cry for them all.

So funny and very descriptive.
In thinking more about how the way these two approaches to life differ, I tried to clarify, in my mind, exactly what they mean to me in my daily life. When my conscience informs me that all is not peaceful in my life, I realize that changes are needed. I have two choices about how I go about making those changes. It could be about adjustments I need to
All your articles have held great interest to me. You are a great writer...talented...inspirational...interesting. Keep it up.
Surely, it can't be as inane as some of the Soap Operas that I watch. There is not much on TV that calls for much intellectual improvement...even today's humor is quite sick. Well, I am off to watch a taped Soap Opera...I don't have a cheese grater.
Wrong choice of the moral of the story...but with age...lots of it...you will learn.
Interesting post. I wondered where you were. Glad you are not dead. You will definitely have to " sic a psychotic switchblade carrying lop earred bunny on you." (me) cause I just don't have time to go to those links. Thanks for sharing though.
How sweet it must be to welcome your brother back home and to be able to help him adjust. I have always admired the dedication of the young people from the Mormon religion. Anytime a person is ready to throw their hat into the ring for any length of time to bring others to Christ is to be admired. If they do it willingly and from the heart, it will be effective, though the results may not always be visible. Thanks for sharing.
Good to see you blogging...even a very short one. When are you going to tell us the whole sodden tale of your escape from Kuwait? You were surprised to find out you are out of shape? Go for that gym stuff on a regular basis if your duties permit and you will come home lean and trim. I can't wait...to see you again...that is.
Blogging is good therapy for every ill...especially mommy brain. Keep at it.
Good for you. Our priorities change as we mature. Don't forget to have your share of fun and laughter. It is good for the soul.
Amazingly insightful!
Yippee! Glad you made it! Get your rest and then we will be eagerly awaiting for more of your stories. Thanks to the pilots, all the transportation people and anyone else who got you where you needed to go. God bless them all.
What a fantastic story. I have been worried because you haven't been blogging lately. Now I understand why. I am sorry about the inconveniences you have to suffer and about AWOL also. You said, "The army system is famous for moving slow, but sometimes things happen too fast to see, and this past week is a good example." Isn't it strange that they could move so quickly in this matter and in others there is not rhyme nor reason to
You were right when you said, " You are as young as you feel." You are just a youngster compared to me but everyday I feel young because I am very healthy and happy. Keep up your spirits, get some good rest, and tomorrow will be bright again, hopefully. Take care and God bless.
Thanks Tali for this infor. I appreciate it. I read your blog but can't find a way to comment without going through a bunch of hoops. Hard at my age. I do go to your site everyday. Thanks again.
I agree with all of the above. That neighbor is rude, arrogant, sneaky, and maybe even dangerous. Now, how is your blood pressure, the acid level in your stomach, the toxic effects of your righteous anger? Can you change the situation? If not , I would humbly suggest that you just quiet down so that you don't let your neighbor's vulgarity ruin your health too. That would be a double whammy. I know that by now you have calmed down because your gentle p
Talisein, please keep us posted! God be with you all!
thanks BigDreamer, Glad you see the difference and hope you follow the relational approach.
getrealwith god Thanks for the comments. I don't see legalism in the truth that we are transformed in our thoughts, wants, and wills when we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. John 15 ... The Vine and the Branches... is one of my favorites for meditation. The transformation may be very gradual but it will be there are we let the power of God's grace flow through us.
Hilarious!
Well, I am getting an education here on JU. I had not heard of "brownshirting" before. I found this description of that term from Google: "These are the traits of brownshirts. Brownshirts know they are right. They know their opponents are wrong and regard them as enemies who must be silenced if not exterminated. " So the term is new to me but certainly not the concept. All over, in every phase of life, we will find people wh
A noble commentary on your Command and Chiefs philosophy! No greater love does any man have than to lay down his life so that others don't have to live in fear and tyranny! You make me proud.
Greywar, Here is another response I received from your cousin (Gene's daughter Pat) who lives in FL and who was in the Marines some years ago. I really liked the part where she (not erroneously) attributes your smarts as coming from me. "Thanks for the updates on/from Michael. I'm telling you that boy has such an incredible sense of humor. I know that he got his smarts
I think the first concept of love is that you have to love yourself before you can love others. You evidently had that. Great Post.
