A more accurate comparison would be between Disruptors III and Subspace Blaster III. My 'guess' would be the size of of SB III would be 4 or 3, allowing you to fit more weapons of that type on the vessel.

LOL! He said it was a Bush quote.
As I've been playing GalCiv2 a couple highlights of the game for me have been building my fleet, and watching them fight it out. (I'm just daydreaming, so be advized if some of this sounds stupid.) I guess my suggestion Isn't for a 'major gameplay change' or 'new ship type'. What I'd like to see is a more 'cinematic' battle of my vessels vs the enemies. The exact same result with more 'flare'. I guess you could call it an 'Improved ship c
Well maybe that might be part of my problem. I usually build 4 factories on my home planet to try and boost the speed at which ships are built. Is there a limit buildings where more of a particular type on a single planet becomes useless. (IE: 4 factories to much?)
Did it work?.... Yes it did! (edit character: Press default button )
Numero Uno: How do you guys get those medals below your posts. I've got medals, but they don't seem to be showing up. Second: General game strategy. I'm usually playing on Normal Difficulty, but I seem to always lag behind within the first few series of turns. My general strat. has been to deplete all my initial funds on
This forum doesn't have a search function. Actually it does. it's on the left there.
Wait.... Research Bonuses don't do anything???
I have both. GalCiv II is really a different Genre then SW:EAW. What's the population on that planet? Usually it's a good practice to build factories first to speed the build time of your other improvements.
I ordered the CD version of GC2. I take it I probably should not use the temporary key e-mailed to me to create an empire, and instead wait for the CD to arrive in the mail.
So I guess what I'm looking for here is "Best Practices". For example... I actually find building farms to be a "Negative" at the moment. I had a farm with a fertile soil tile (+300% for farming). I build a farm there, check back later, and my approval rating on that planet was 30%. Why? Population! What is the benefit to having a planet with a high population outside of "Planetary Defense vs Troop Carriers" and "More Population for Colony ships". <br/
Thanks guys. The instance where the "opposing faction" built an influence starbase right next to my capital was actually the first mission in the campaign. The alterians built it. Kind of confused me. Why would the Alterians who are my ally do that unless there was some sort of positive benefit to me?
1.) What are boarders based off of? Influence? 2.) When expanding your boarders in an unoccupied area of space (No planets) which of the 3 station types would be the best to use? 3.) The "Influence station" was built right next to my capital by an opposing race. What is the ramifications behind this? What can I do to counter? 4.) "Flag ships" unique hulls? Are they upgradeable? 5.) Is there a way to pull one of the "core designs" in
I'm not completely 'bummed' per'say because I have really no idea what to expect. I played the first Gal Civ and wasn't to impressed w/the combat system... so I have that hanging over my head. Part of Space 4x games to me is being the "Supreme Commander" for the armada. You could make the case to me that as that commander I wouldn't be getting into the nitty gritty bits of the combat... but I'd still like to see it. What's the fun in building a huge armada if you can't watch your 'fla
So far this is coming up to be a Mixxed bag for me. Love 4x games [+] No Multiplayer? [-] Can Design your own ships! [+] No tactical combat? [-] No planetary (starbase?) defenses? [--] I keep going "Wow that's cool" and then 5 minutes later saying "Well that stinks"
