In PSP there is an option to save the palette seperately, I'm sure PS has an option like that also, hunt through all options and menu's

It may not anything you have installed recently, I generally get errors when there is a corrupt BMP file in the LogonSkin that I am sing, so all I do is change it to another, if that dosen't work for you, you may want to check that all skins are correct (uncorrupted) this would take some time as you would need to load or try loading each BMP file into a graphics program, the one that dosen't want to load is the corrupt file. It dont work too well with WindowsFX running, window are ok but the Taskbar screws up
Try reinstalling SkinStudio First uninstall - Reboot and then install again - Hopefully that should do it
