I'm using 4.00.165, the one being offered through Object Desktop right now. I'm relieved it isn't necessarily a problem in my system anyway. Thanks

After updating to v4.0, I was prompted to enter the activation name and serial number. I did it once and all seemed OK. Then, while on my wifes account (XP Pro SP2) I tried to open Icon Packager, and was prompted to enter this info again. Also, if I try to change an individual icon, I get an error message about activate.exe not being found in the all users.WINDOWS folder. Any ideas?
I'm running Windows XP Pro SP2 with the latest WB 6 loaded. I ran into the problem of the Start Menu and Window Frames not having transparency applied when logging into my account. If I set the transparency for these items and hit "Apply Changes", they would go transparent. But, after logging out and back on, only the task bar would be transparent. I have only been able to have the Start Menu and Window Frames go transparent if I put WBLoad in the Startup folder (in the programs menu). Of course
Now that WB5 has multi user functionality, when I attempted to activate WB5 from my wife's account, the activation window would not accept my submission. I used my e-mail and the Serial for Object Desktop. I got an error of some kind that it couldnt write the submission or something like that. Later when I tried again, it said I had maxed out my attempts. Please reset my account or tell me what I need to do. Thanks

While I will never claim to understand these conflicts from the code level, I have fiddled with these kind of problems enough to get a rough feel for the kinds of combinations that may cause these problems. In short, yes, I would think that having the same kind of "effect" being run simultaneously from two different sources could creat some unusual (unintended and unwanted) results. That's why I disabled the transparency option in Hydravision when I sa
I've noticed that running certain effects options via your graphics card may conflict with WB5 and generate this black background on dropdowns and right click menus. Try disabling any effects options on your graphics card and see if that helps. I know this isn't a fix, but it can help avaoid the issue. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/icons/wc.gif" border=0 alt="Posted via WinCustomize Browser/St
I had this problem also. I am running an ATI Radeon 9800 pro All-In-Wonder graphics board. There is an option to run "Hydravision" which has "Desktop Management" and "effects" options like running transparent menus and shadows etc. When I disabled this, (unload desktop manager) the "black" highlighted text problem went away. Look to see if you have any effects options turned on via your graphics card. There may be a conflict between these and WB5.</fon
I finally have WB5 loaded and working (almost working). At least I am now able to load skins and switch them and am not having the issues with skins not loading or not working at all. However, in reading all the posts in the discussion board, I have seen nothing about people having problems with the Multi-User aspect of WB5 not working. My wife's account does not show that WB is present at all. No button in the Appearance Tab of Display Prope
I am having the same problems. Running Windows XP Pro SP2 with AMD 64 3200, 1 gig Ram, ATI Radeon All-In-Wonder 9800 When I try to load a skin as I used to from the WinCustomize website and I get the balloon to click and apply, it appears to be applying, but doesnt. It doesn't show up in the Skins preview list in WBConfig either. If I try to load one using the "Install Skin From Disk" option in WBConfig, it needs to be in a Zip file or
Yes, when I had 4.6 loaded, she had it on her account, fully functional.
She's admin, so should have rights
Finally got WB5 loaded and working with the help of support. Now, after logging onto my wife's account, I see she does not have WB available. Older versions had a patch for multi users but I thought that wasn't necessary anymore. 4.6 showed up on her account fine. Any suggestions?
I have tried numerous times to upgrade to WB5, but I have not been able to get it installed to the point where I could report any additional problems. Install shuts down Stardock Central once it hits 99%. When I restart SDC, it shows WB% still not installed.
