Thank you all. It has been quite a ride since I started skinning almost 3 years ago now. Hard to believe. And I really do TRY to participate in the message boards, but you are right... I'd rather skin. To Skin, or not to Skin... That is the question! Whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer the buttons and arrows...

There is nothing ObjectBar can do that DesktopX can't, so I've never seen the use for ObjectBar. (For the uses I would have for it, of course. I know it is a powerful application.) As far as Nextstart, I used to be a die hard user, but then I grew up, so to speak, to DesktopX again. I can do far more with DesktopX than with Nextstart. I used to run them both, but why have two programs that overlap abilities running on the same computer?

A hard thread to follow here, but my two cents: Only if you have been living in box for the last three years will you have missed that almost nothing about the internet is free these days. My business was a DOT-Com casualty that I am only now managing to re-invent and rebuild. Find some way to charge your downloaders. I liked the idea of viewing only, and downloading only if you are a subscriber. The idea of dividing the proceeds with the skinner *sounds* nice in theory (considering

Oh my goodness, it's been well over a year... Now I'm going to have to make good on updating my last few themes to Nextstart 3. Hmmmm.... now if I just didn't have this crazy job so I would have more time for skinning..... Wink Wink.

That's why I "retired" some months ago. It's just so much work, and truely so little appreciation sometimes. But then I remodeled my home office, and I started to change a few things, little by little, to match my new office color scheme. From there, it just ballooned into some large monster that will never be finished. Or so it seems. I do manage to do most of my skinning at work, and while the wife is asleep. My insomnia is everyone else's gain, I guess. Lately I haven't been all that m

The Nissan Ken an Barbie one tops the list! You are so right, Chickie! We just had this discussion at my house the other day. Others in the top were The Snickers "Batman" commercial, the Snickers "Hey, that's great, but who are the Chefs? Great Googly Moogly!" commercial. Several of the M&M commercials.

I couldn't live without Photoshop. But then again, I have been a photoshop user since version 2.something. Scary, eh? So once you get used to something, you can never go back. Besides, I always say, you get what you pay for....

I've had this problem when starting out new skins. What fixed this problem for me was skinning the systray expand/contract arrow. Wierd, eh?

WB: 1) Indemnity by Chadamus I only use one WB at a time, and once I make the change, I rarely switch back and forth. DX: 1) Indemnity by Chadamus 2) Colony by Chadamus So now I sound like greyhaze... I'd have to say that I only use my own skins in the long run also. That's what got me into skinning in the first place. Since no one had *exactly* what I wanted, I started

I have a feeling you are talking about me here... I generally freely give permission to use the Anytheme DX icon packs in people's uploaded themes if they only ask first, and include a author credit in their description. However when an author doesn't ask permission, and doesn't even say from who he got the objects from... I get a little annoyed. As you can imagine, when a person puts alot of work into a huge effort such as that, and then someone else takes credit, that's not right. A
