Well GalCiv 1 didnt have any copy protection, and I doubt GalCiv 2 would either
Annekynn
Well im thankful there is atleast basic ground combat this time around
Yep, it gets progressively worse. I believe it happens due to combat, thats why in my experience on smaller galaxies where fighting breaks out sooner the lockups happen sooner, and on big galaxies where combat takes longer to occur I can play for a considerably longer time before the lockups start happening.
This damn bug cripples each and every single game I play. Some I manage to progress a few years before I get perma stuck, but it always happens. Ive yet to fight a single war
Hrm, I have not noticed this behavior. When I chose no ship to build the shipyard always is idle for me
Not sure if some of these are on the to-do list or not, or maybe even already implemented, but here are some things I would like to see: - Dynamic AI. AI that reacts to the circumstances and changes its style of play. When its getting its butt kicked, id like to see the AI take a defensive stance. - Reasonable dimplomacy. Why declare war on a race that you have never spoken to, one that has no military what so ever, and one that has not hurt you in any way? In my last game
That works 90% of the time, but not always. In my current game I am perma stuck. Dont matter how many times I save and reload, the turn does not progress
Yeah ive noticed the same thing. Right now it simply doesnt tell you what all the requirements are for a specific goal. But im hopefull this will eventually be fleshed out
Well I just started beta testing, so please inform me what Scott's email address is (or how the submission process works) and ill happily send it. EVERY game I play ends up with a stuck turn.
Im in the "dont care about multiplayer" category. As Wulfer stated, replayability is king.
In my next game, I ran into the same problem. This time I had a save game from the previous turn. Reloading the save game runs into the same problem. Turn button dissapears and enter button will not advance turn.
Yes I clicked the button, the turn proceeded, and then nothing. Button did not reappear, and enter does not progress either. It was a quick test game trying out different things, was relying on auto save only, so I did not have a save to reload and try again.
Playing as the drengii, date 22 Nov 2226, my turn button has dissapeared, and while I can still interact with everything I cannot advance to the next turn. Pressing enter does not do anything either.
"Basically to put it simple I believe GalCiv2 should start at least with stuff available in MoO1 and then improve it" You are correct. Its what made the MoO series so good, the DEPTH. Minimal graphics, huge possibilities. Ofcourse the GalCiv series should have its own new and unique things, but including as many of the features that made previous games great should be a priority.
