No matter how well-written your backstory may be, a personal story will always be more engaging to the player. I vote to move towards customizability of race over pre-defined races. You guys have incredible customization and modability already, why not go all out?

If this is an inappropriate question for the GalCiv2 boards I apologize, but I figured I'd try here before elsewhere. Alright, recently I wiped my computer and reinstalled everything. However, when I attempt to install GalCiv2, an odd thing occurs. I install Stardock Central (which goes perfectly fine, by the way), and start installing GalCiv2. It will cache and download the files, like it always does... but when it's finished, it caches and downloads again... then caches and download
Ever since I bought this game, every single game I play invariably puts exactly five planets around every last star. It doesn't matter if the "number of planets" box is set to Rare or Abundant, it is -ALWAYS- five planets on every star. This annoys me to no end. Is there a way this can be fixed, or is there a possibility it will be patched in the future? I mean, heck, if it's just a math error, I might try to fix it myself.
I'm not too sure if I agree about keeping all the old ones... I saw the cutscene that plays when you lose your first freighter... the fuzzy sound, low-resolution audio and poor animation made me cringe when all the others are of relatively good quality. Graphically speaking, the cutscenes are by far the weakest part of the game. Nevertheless this game is fan-freakin-tastic and I am completely hooked, cheezy cinematics and all.
