You need to build ideology producing buildings, like the Preparedness Center for Pragmatic Ideology for example. This will give you points for your chosen Ideology. I don't play multiplayer but I believe Horemvore is right about that, I recall reading something about it...

I wouldn't concern yourself about the numbers too much. I'm almost always way behind the AI for most of the game until I start being able to crank out large ships (which is usually way into the 200s as far as turns with the way I play). Since Crusade I have only been playing on the largest map size and with ~22 AI. As you noticed, the AI is usually building small and tiny ships and they go for numbers to try and overwhelm your defenses. Once I see what their preferred weapons are I focus my d
I don't do this, but it needs to be brought to the attention of the devs because there could be a lot of unintended consequences letting this go. Do you know if the AI is doing it to another AI? I don't... AI spawned trade deals seem to be ridiculously weighted in their favor. I have yet to take one. But I've seen streams where Brad was playing and some of the deals looked pretty good. So m
You can easily trade for the AIs colony ships and survey ships for tech, then disband them to get the administration points, or go ahead and use them. This is extremely devastating to the AI, especially early game. This has been brought up in another thread and will hopefully be addressed.
I hear you and it should be addressed at some point. But there's a thought, just avoid using the exploit! I've k
How much improvement to Crusade are you willing to forfeit for the base game to get more features? That is, the budget is the budget.
Ah, I'm with TheFunMachine here, I honestly don't see myself going back to the base game. So based on what you said above, I'm going to be selfish then and say just focus on Crusade as much as possible. With each expansion/improvement that happened to GC2 I pretty much en
@Frogboy, Well, I'm biased too, I've been along for the ride since OS/2 and I have to agree with you wholeheartedly, Crusade is the best version of all the versions I've played. I'm embarrassed to say, but I have over 3000 hours invested in GC3 and since I got to play with Crusade the intensity of the time I've spent has gone up. I hate to tell you but my wife doesn't like you very much Brad... ;) Out of the 5 features you're on the fence about, you can't go wrong addin
To date, I have never built that project but the AI has many times in my games so they are able to find that resource which tells me it must be out there. I don't recall if I've found/mined it as that project is always built by the AI long before I could ever do it. While relearning the game I have the AI set to normal so they should not have any buffs/cheats that would give them that without finding it on their own.
My friend, who didn't make it to Discord and be able to get in on the early testing of Crusade, has asked me if the opt-in update 2.13 preview is the same as the vip_build that I'm using. As I have no clue I'm asking the powers that be. Thanks.
It has been discovered that pre-Crusade made races can overwrite base game races! I had that happen to me today and Frogboy confirmed that it was happening. So you need to get rid of all custom races created before Crusade to avoid problems.
[e digicons]:'([/e] I'm bumming out thinking that I now won't be able to really enjoy a ludicrous map with my lowly 8 core and 32GB of memory... but you know I have to try! [e digicons]*_*[/e] EDIT: posted the wrong amount of memory for the gaming rig...

You can still trade/talk to them, just not the usual way you were used to. Click on their planet and you'll see the Speak To button. Or, go into the diplomacy screen and talk to someone else, then click on the right arrow to the right of their name to scroll through all the people you can talk to and the minors still show up there.
I feel your pain! I can no longer progress past turn 261 in my last game. Went back a couple of saves previously and did different things but it crashes each and every time at this turn. So this game is officially dead. Sent in the saved game and debug.err file to pshaw in the hopes it will help them track down the issue.
It's my understanding that any mods you want to work in both the base game and Crusade needs to have them in both branches mods' folders.

Hang on lads, the wait will be well worth it. You're experiencing the quiet before the storm... ;)
OMG! I forgot the look of the OS2 version seeing it's been so many years that I played that one... Think it was the only game built for OS2 that I bought! @Buckstrider, lol a little impatient? Best to wait for all the issues to be ironed out before you get it otherwise you may not be that happy.
Ha, just saw this. I have this case just like starkers does. I like it. Could care less about the lights and would like them to stay at what I set them also! I've like Thermaltake cases. Hell, I still have a couple old ones in my garage, one monster watercooled aluminum heatsink jobber (forgot the model and name...) and an even older one with a red X over the Thermaltake logo with a control module for all the fans with a knob to adjust their speed. Was very cool and geeky at the time I bought

I just hope they'll let us know if the release has slipped from today, and no problem if it has, just would be nice to hear as I already feel silly for how long/much I've sat in front of my computer hitting F5... [e digicons][/e]

Even if a game doesn't turn out well at launch, Stardock has shown that they will make it right and good in the end. Over the years they've earned my trust- and it's rare for me to give that trust with my money.
