This is of course, a hypothetical discussion because I have no idea if Stardock is seeing the interest in the game they were hoping to garner but I had a couple thoughts on race balancing. I could see some tweaking to be a good idea. Some of the races were way too weak, but I'd hate to see the game perfectly balanced since that tends to push advantages to a less extreme and less interesting level. I think races in a game of this style should be more about style of play than the one that

Fluff stuff doesn't bother me so much as duplicating the mechanics of the game and having all the races in. I mean, come on. That intro cinematic was hokey eveny by 1993 standards. But yeah, I'd miss Jaer the Windwalker myself. I can do without Brax though. Whenever I got Brax, the first thing I did with him was to walk him into a chaos node to get him killed so he wouldn't show up again.

Yikes! He's just a conversational typist without italics. Relax. Anyhoo, I personally think MOM would be a hard game to top as IMO it hasn't happened yet. MOM's only weakness was that it was buggy and had a few exploits which is much less of a big deal in a single player game. My personal ideal would be an update with some new toys (some new races and spells etc..) and then a true sequel. This would give Stardock the chance to really soak their brains in the balance of the game and I ha

Try a warlord with lizardmen in an archipelago with life magic. They get their good stuff fast and a couple units of javelineers with heroism cast on them make for a pretty nasty raiding party. But yeah, a lot of the game is luck. I've restarted a fair number of games when I saw how considerably the odds were stacked against me simply due to where I was situated on the terrain. Yeah, I think MOO 3 sold a LOT of Gal Civ copies and a good thing too. I like the way these guys operate. The whole industry is turning into a bottom line operation and no one seems to understand that screwing your fanbase will in turn screw your brand. Hopefully Interplay's demise and Sierra's near scuttling will get some people to wake up.

Age of Mythology II was close but no cigar. I thought it was decent but the spells just weren't as much fun and didn't really complement the units that well. The units were kind of dull too. That and having nothing but scripted campaigns really shot the replay value. But cool to seem some more people gettin' interested. I think that ridiculous review I put up actually convinced 2 or 3 people.

Master of Magic Every once in a blue moon, a strategy game comes along that blows the doors off of the very genre. Before Heroes of Might and Magic, there was Master of Magic, a game published by Microprose, the hands down king of turn based strategy in the early ‘90s. Similar but superior to the popular Warlords series, Master of Magic offered a remarkable variety of gameplay options that rivals the most intricate of turn based strategy games but does so in a very easy to learn interfa

Is there a Gal Civ demo anywhere? Also a list of all the changes and bug fixes Stardock made to Gal Civ since after it debuted would be awesome ammo for convincing people that Stardock is definitely the last best chance at a MoM game that doesn't go the way of X-Com or Fallout; falling into the hands of a bunch of morons who don't understand that all the fans want is a freakin' sequel, not X-Com on Ice, Fallout the racing game, or Master of Magic: Storybook Adventures. If by the rare ch

I've been trying to spread the word but everyone's so damn cynical about it. I think this is mostly because these people aren't familiar with the rep you guys have. Maybe if you elaborated a little bit on your design intentions, you get could more interest. I'm still willing to play forum PR spokesman just to try and get more interest though. It sounds what you have in mind is a basic graphics update with a few tweaks and some more features. Seems like a smart move to me and it seems to

Well, to get the rabble rousing off the ground, I've tried letting these people know. http://www.masterofmagic2.com/ Sadly, I'm not sure Stardock is going to get the interest they want. People are so damn cynical. Just commit to preordering the game you fools! Like they're going to do it wrong after all the amazing effort they put into patching and adding to Gal Civ as problems and exploits presented themselves. We finally get a shot at a new MoM and you all want to speculate a
