The irony is, I'm the perfect mystery shopper. The service industry is incredibly demanding and its employees are vastly underappreciated. That being said, you are right. As a customer, you are the reason their job exists. I do agree with you, though, that giving tips isn't a bad idea. The only downside to that is, in the industry even crappy service is expected to be tipped.
