Yeah, from all accounts he was a decent guy who did a lot for charity. He died while taking a 5 minute break from his charity event in support of victims of Typhoon Haiyan. So yeah, let's all rag on him for not being Daniel Day-Lewis... [e digicons][/e] I'd rather people be judged on how they treat their fellow humans than how good they are at their job. By that measure, it sounds like he comes out being a better person than most of us.

Children, when learning to write, often write letters (and sometimes even words) backwards. It just seems to be a natural part of our nervous system learning the movements for the first time. I guess an adult writing with their non-dominant hand experiences the same thing. I'm a lefty though, and writing with my right hand is so hopeless I can't even form letters, backwards or not. :D

Yeah, as always, it's a subjective thing. Plenty of people don't like big cities, so the claim that even a place like Melbourne is more livable than, say, a smaller town with a lower cost of living, less impersonality (is that a word?), and a more immediate natural setting is a little laughable to them. Personally, though, I like cities... anyone want to hire me in Melbourne? :)

So I'd say the designers were correct in thinking that the UI is good enough.

Awesome, congrats! A couple comments: 30 times zoom is fantastic, and more than you'd ever get on an SLR unless you spend $1500+ on the lens alone. Don't worry about not having RAW. I've talked to semi-professional photographers, and even they don't shoot in RAW. I'm sure there are some situations where pros use it, but it's nothing you'll ever miss. If you're interested in learning how to shoot nice
