Thanks but I've already done that and tried everything I could. It is all based off a new version which allows for appointments... All of which seem to have overridden the ability of the original to be used as a normal icon to link to a program. Does anyone's default calendar work (can you set the title and link)? Maybe mine is somehow defective...
When I add the default calendar packaged with OD to my dock, I can right-click the calendar and choose Customize. From there I am afforded three options. I can change the Calendar's title, the link, and any arguments to the link. However, any changes to these values do not stick. Is there some way to make these values save? As soon as I close the Customize window, the changes are gone because they are never applied. I don'
I just found a fic to this problem. http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm The page lists a number of registry files which can repair problems with specific extensions. I figured the problem was in the registry, and searched my registry for .lnk, but did not see anything blatantly wrong. Check the page if you're having trouble with icons misbehaving!
I have been customizing my icons, mostly getting attractive icons for all of my major applications. Just last night I rebooted and all of my start menu shortcuts (*.lnk) had changed to the default file icon. I was annoyed but thought I could just go through and change them. When I right click on one (In Windows Explorer) to edit the properties, then click Change Icon, no matter what icon I select, it does not change the icon of the shortcut.
