Is that a new title Hippy? I dont think I have noticed the "Wizop" honorific before.. Zero.
Double Zero
Beautiful work, guys ... absolutely beautiful .... thanks a whole bunch!! I agree with that!..once I got it squared away, it is an AWESOME suite! Thanks at TON Zero.
You can "turn off" the automatic updates. YuP, you can Island, and I most definitely do, but..to do the updates, until you turn the "Automatic" feature "On" Windows Update will not allow you to update windows..just a slight bothersome little MS deal..turn them on, turn them off, turn them on, turn them
Well..Actually..this *IS a first..I got the Alienware suites to work with theme manager!.. I cant get any of the suites here at WC to work still..but these suites work. It's a funny thing tho..you DL a 40mb file from the Alienware site..click on the suite files to install them and are brought to a stardock site to DL even more stuff..::shakes his head:: I am sorry but I simply do not understand..::laughs:: but they work..::laughs:: Drop125
Your not crazy, I got the same thing..Plus..I guess you need to have Stardocks Theme Manager?? I do not see a theme manager in the program and I cannot use the suites with the free version of Stardocks theme manager.. I am just bummin!! Ah well, Zero.
Windows XP NSP (No Service Packs - service packs are evil) I would have to agree with "Lady Snow Man ??" LoL Service packs are Evil! and I do not care for the fact that MS now requires you to have "Automatic Updates" turned on to update the SP you have.. I have SP1 installed..I will not install
::nods::I think he is refering to the log-off box that comes up when you choose log-off or shut-down ..Pax is right, The only way to change any element in your log off dialog is to use Windowblids to skin it and SkinStudio to edit the skins, or elements of the skins (like the log off dialog) you want to alter.
Now... Why? lol LoL..*Exactly..
Well..I have used this program in the past, I do like the *Loggong feature..plaus it's free and *Skinnable!..::laughs:: it does need some decent skins, the ones available just arent all that great. It is a decent program tho, gets rid of the adds, logs and also allows multi sessions, not to mention *Tabbing the windows.. I just checked and it does say it has been upgraded to work with 5.9 Here ya go! Link
Soldja - your very welcome, glad it worked out for you. Zero.
LoL..Ok..this needs a "plug" since it doesnt seem to be all that popular, it is a decent program, just not as good as some of the others.. I am currently using ULEAD's - Photoimpact 6, GIF Animator 4.5 , Cool 3D. Axialis - Ax Cursor and Screen Saver Studio Swish Flash 2.0 I know, I really need to get some real proggies, but these are a start.. Zero.
I go away for a couple hours and EVERYBODY gets to take a shot..LoL.. As for the "legalities" of transferring XP..::nods:: it's all true, Phoon makes a good point that I did not even consider in my replies.. I have never given or sold a machine with a copy of my XP OS, I usually tell the person or persons they have a choice,(1st recommendation) they can either buy a copy of XP that I will install for them, or I can install one of my older
No it don't bother me - I was just wondering what the deal was. Glad I could answer one of the "Easy" ones then for you..::laughs:: it is truely a rare opportunity to do so. Zero.
Kona, it's a habit, is it against the rules? Just something I have grown accustomed to doing..I apollogize if it bothers you, but it's not likely to change anytime soon. Take Care, Zero.
Heeeeeeyyyyy..I had that perspective too..::laughs:: 1st! She's right, to be completey safe replace the Hard Drive with a brand new one.. Now my toes are getting all squished!..j/k Thats actually what I do personally, I replace the HD's in my old systems before giving/selling them..But it really
Wow...LoL..Did you get that from that??.. No worries, you didnt step on my toes, and I didnt mean to setp on yours (tho my boots cause me to be a bit clumbsy!..LoL) I was just pointing out that for the average user (which is probably more than the case) a simple format is fine, there isnt an abundance of people that know how to extract information and chances are he wont be selling his PC to someone that does.. But as I pointed o
Formatting doesn't really destroy the data...There are a number of tools that can recover after a format. I would uninstall all proggies except Windows and use eraser She's right, to be completey safe replace the Hard Drive with a brand new one..(I do think that this is going a bit far, how many of us
LoL, Thanx Cindi, and the same to you! (I havent gotten the whole emoticon insertion thing down yet so I cant share) By the way, Happy belated Birthday form me as well! Zero.
LoL..You can make whatever you wish Boss as long as it is for personal use..of course you knew that... As for the "Geezer Squad" Now that term is relevant to a couple very different meanings..I am going to assume you mean the "Elder" definition..::laughs:: and unfortunately I may be asking you to make me that same Icon!! LoL, Zero.
Format then reinstall Windows.. This can be done using the Windows XP installation disk or a windows 98 boot disk If using the Win98 boot disk simply type in Format C: at the prompt (where C: it your root drive) All kinds of warnings will appear (designed to give you a chance to back out) Type Y and let it go.. When Format is complete you can opt to either reinstall XP or any other OS back onto the PC Hope that helps, Zero
but most of the stuff doesnt effect like the toolbars, the X in the corners, the roundness of the edges, and the start menu nothing gets effected apart from the desktop Hmmm, one thing to try.. Do you have your desktop theme set to *XP style or the Classic Style.. you need to set it to Classic in
Lantec, Your advice allways seems very sound, and this piece of advice is no different.. Zero.
Hmmm..It may not be a bad idea to create a restore point as well, before using bootskin..Last known good configuration is great but not a 100% dependable.. Go to Start button > All Programs > Accessories > System Tool > System Restore Choose "Create a Restore Point" name it whatever you like and save Just an little addition to Corky's *Solid advice, Have Fun! Zero.
Windowblinds.. Apparently it uses less resources than XP themes.. if yiu really need that small amout of memory to play your games..just turn window blinds off while your gaming. You obviously arent enjoying anything that has to do with "Windows" while your gaming anyway.. Thats what I suggest, Zero.
Thanx Fuzzy, I personally was having a problem appreciating "XYZ's" fine linguistic art there towards the end.. Guess I am weak.. ::laughs:: Ah well, Zero.
