There are certain strings in the UI that must be changed according to graphics format..for example 32bit alpha... Try this site to learn more.. http://bfarber.com/index.php?showforum=65 bfarber.com -> XP Login Screens Also, "round" will drive you crazy, even with the strings changed and your sizes correct, something as simple as padding can ruin your day... Heres another site with excellent info..http://webpages.charter.net/joolsie/LogonScreens.htm Animation/T

Honestly I have only ever had a few minor issues with the updates... I will not allow them to be automatic, but I will install them for the simple fact that their purpose is to reinforce a product that clearly needs it.... I NEVER install any of the Hardware/Drivers from Windows update, now that wou

I'm sure MS is already spending millions on developing the next "uncrackable protection scheme". I hear it involves an RFID and GPS-enabled USB dongle that contacts an RFID chip that you have to implant under your skin. Then every time you log in, the dongle reports to Redmond the exact location of the PC and its user that's accessing their operating system. Now *That is Sci-fi... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Laugh.gif" bord

Believe it or not the first thing I did was look for a way to turn that piece of cr^p OFF... If MS has no issue with Stardock modifying it then go for it! The intentions were probably great, but for a power user it is the most ANNOYING thing that can happen.. Perhaps it could be implimented a bit differently? perhaps for users with diffeent levels of experience.. Say a 7 year old gets on the machine to play games.. Novice Setting The teenager gets on it to do resear

Pirates? What pirates? "We Neeeeeed no stinking Pirates" ..LoL..Sorry...couldnt resist.. Hate to say it but Boss is right..nobody is twisting your arm to buy Vista, while I can agree the price is out of control for what the OS is...It really is just that simple..Buy it or dont... I imagine the OEM version of ultimate will drop rather quickly if you can wait it out, should give you plenty of useful time to perform the upgrades you need t

I agree...that and the price Well Yeah I.R..The Price is ridiculous as well..Way out of control,It put a dent in my wallet, I had to go use the damn ATM..GRRRRRRRR...LoL. Then again, the people who still have computer that are well out of the range of Vista, probably don't know what Vista is in the first place. LMAO, You know Adam, That is Soooo very true...I tell people all the time about Vista, i

Most computers today will struggle to run all the features of Vista at full speed, but maybe in a year hardware will catch up to Vista. Im Im going to have to disagree with that entirely... Im running Vista Ultimate on a machine I built a little over 3 years ago, and according to Vista's cute little rating system the box rates a 4.0 which apparently is a pretty decent score with 5.9 being the highest on their scale... 4.0 is your lowest har

Alright, allow me to be "the devil" for a few moments..LoL... Honestly im not looking to upset anyone or Flame/be flamed for the following opinions, so please lets try to have a normal discussion? Then I went to the Stardock Library and began DLing "Dark Avatar"(Which is pretty cool by the way) First thought about it was during DL..38 MB's Pretty big file..Shouldnt matter these d

Well...1 hour isnt all that bad considering the volume of information being converted to different formats for burning to a readable DVD... at least I dont think so...and I think that time will be cut down as technology moves forward.. Processors get even faster..etc..etc.. Burning a movie only takes minutes..it's the conversion that takes time, im using a 3gig pentium w/a gig of RAM and I can usually get a 2 hour movie converted from AVI format to VOB or Mpeg format and burned in about an

As I recall JJ can't use it because of the language problem. Some languages it works fine with, but I'm pretty sure Chinese isn't one of them. Uhhhh..Ya Think??.. LoL..You have 2 choices..perhaps 3.. Change your OS's default language to Chinese... Translate the UIFILE to english...or give up on it and grab a different logon...
