It boils down to one group threatening a company to pony up an equal amount of money in support of their cause, because of a contribution made to someone they don't like, or face a boycott. It almost sounds like extortion to me
Just like our politicians and welfare?
The sad part is they are just cheap hookers to the democrat party. They are used and abused and told what to do and say. And get only lip service in return.
Which runs absolutely contrary to the very purpose of their founding agenda and ALSO is a violation of their tax exempt status.

Anyone find it interesting how they are going after Arizona for their immigration law when Missouri has had essentially the same law for about 5 years? Let's also mention Nebraska passing their law against illegal immigration. No, lawsuits against them. Hmmm, one has to wonder. Lets also mention that they are suing AZ for allegedly usurping Federal power (not racial profiling as mentioned in the thread). To spite AZ I heard that they defunded ICE in AZ pr
My wife just got her notice today that her request for permanent resident status has been approved. The whole thing took >3 years and thousands of dollars. Just to change from temporary to permanent was $540. I don't care who comes here as long as they come through proper channels. Amnesty is a slap in the face to anyone that came the right way.
You think it could be more user friendly? http://reason.org/files/a87d1550853898a9b306ef458f116079.pdf
Lo Loca, if this is the case then you certainly cannot support the democrats here either. The main reason all these hoops are there is due to the Dems. It is also extremely expensive and continues to get extremely expensive. The rates for all the different visas and applications have as much doubled in many cases just July 2009. I know
again I say...wow! Just wow A.D. I couldn't go too far in looking at this hateful site. Like I said before "out of the heart the mouth speaks."
Yeah I wasn't able to look much more at the site either. Sadly the ignorance isn't even surprising anymore. [e digicons]:'([/e]
I heard that when I first heard about it. The "helpers" where the Rabbi's son and his friend (I think about 17)
Yeppers. Given the deeper context in which this was said I'm gonna have to back off on my point. That's like talking about white supremacy during a White House celebration of Black heritage.
"Saudi-Arabia" will have to respect other religions (and Shiites).
This slowly happening. The RCC is working to get the administration to recognize the Christians there. While the gov't may not respect other religions yet the local level is showing signs of more tolerance. A friend of mine was just over in that area and was telling me the best way to find a church in that town was to ask a Police Officer. lol So while the upper gov't may not be

I didn't even know there are more than one verse to that song er rather poem. This video has gone viral on FB and rightfully so. I found it especially moving seeing people stand up for it once they recognized the song.
Because you made the change to the house. The lessor is going to sue you. Now you can sue the gas company, but the lessor has no relationship with the gas company. So the US will sue BP, BP may sue Transocean (that is their right). But the US has no relationship with Transocean.
Ah ok. Well, that does make a bit more sense. Thanks Doc. I do know that BP is working with Transocean to pay up in addition to the catastrophe insurance they have. </
The slight difference AD, is that you seemed to think her "retirement" was somehow an abridgment of her freedom of speech. I merely stated that Hearst has that right (freedom of speech) as well as she does.
I'm not seeing this as a happy voluntary retirement. It seems that there is similar pressure for retirement as there would have been for Don Imus with his stupid comments. What she said is nothing new from her. Why now? I don't like it.
But if you were the one that contracted to put that gas line in, you are. BP contracted to put the line in.
BP got the mineral rights from MMS in March of 2008. BP contracted TransOcean and Haliburton for the drilling and lease of the platform. Again if I am leasing a house and I contract the gas company to put in the gas... how would I be responsible? The platform is owned and operated by TransOcean leased by BP until 2013. Maybe I'm mi
Good Job, AD! I hope/pray the numbers are growing!
Had another visitor last week! I know I owe you an email but work has been a bear, we just bought a house and are actively working on it. Hard wood floors are now finished (Character Maple)! Now working on trim (stained #2 1X4 pine) for the rest of the house. Hopefully this weekend we can begin actually moving in. So far just a bed and dining table with two lawn chairs is all we have in the
That is the part you need not do. Her freedom of speech was not abridged. She suffered no legal penalties for it. Just as we have to allow the neo-nazis to spout their stupidity, that does not mean we have to defend WHAT they say, only their right to say it.
I thought that's what I said in response to KFC's article.
The Lease is BPs, and that is why. The mistake was probably Transocean, but the responsibility is the lease holder.
How is that? If I lease a house and it blows up from a gas line that I didn't mess with, I'm not liable. If I lease a car and there was a manufacturing defect, again I'm not liable. The pressure release valves were found to be faulty, just as if it was a gas pedal on a Toyota?

I'm with NC. I'm not sure what the big fuss is. Yeah what she said was horrible but why is anyone surprised? She is uber lib and has been notoriously known as such! Here's a link of her in 2007 supporting Carter's book LINK She has a view that I don't agree with and for the sake of you all here and others out there I am disappointed that this is causing her to retire. I support her freedom of speech
