You have a great husband. I just have to laugh that he would make a bet about shoes with you....didn't he realize that girls notice these things? At least he is living up to his end of the bargin. Have fun and get the pink!

I think he normally would have jumped off, except the box of toy cars that he stood on to get up had fallen over.....He has already had the experienc of nosediving onto a pile of hot wheels....ouch. I'll give him this....He never repeats a stupid stunt. He just finds new ways to accomplish his craziness.

What an insightful post! I think it is wonderful when someone can realize what brings them joy. Contentment with who we are and where we are in our lives brings us closer to happiness than any superficial award or achievement. Kudos for your wonderful article!

This afternoon while my darling son was supposed to be sleeping, I heard him crying. So naturally, I ignored it, thinking that he would stop in a few moments. However, it didn't. I went in his room to give him a hug and tell him to go to sleep. To my not-so-surprise, I found him perched on top of his bookshelf, unable to move up or down, cl

servicemembers are responsible for the actions of their dependents. I have known military members to be kicked out of housing based soley on the actions of their dependents Gosh, don't you feel harrassed? threatened? Do you feel unsafe walking to your own door? I can just imagine the stress and

I remember that there were 3 vote counts, and Bush won all 3. The Florida state government, controlled by Republicans including GW's brother Jeb, decided to not do another recount. Gore sued to do another recount, and the Florida Supreme court sided with Gore. The ruling was appealed to the US Supreme court, which ruled against G

Sally, I catch your comments all over the place. You are insightful when you choose to respond. Don't worry if you have nothing to blog about. Some of the wisest people don't say much. Enjoy your sleep now.....if you ever have kids, that is one of the first luxuries to disappear!

Fantastic article. for someone to say they hate something, means that this thing has had a huge impact on their life, in a negative way, maybe, but the impact is still there. Instead of letting the hate consume you, you should embrace why it made you hate, and it will make you a better person. <

Just a thought....could you imagine the difficulty in prosecuting? The US Army has a "No adultry" rule on the books, but the only time someone gets prosecuted is if it is in conjuntion with something else, ie: rape. The logistics in proving guilt is too difficult. It would be nice if people took the vow (PROMISE) they made at marriage as seriously as other oaths, but I doubt that could ever ha

Stay at home motherhood is a choice. There were a large number of "unfulfilled women" in our Grandmother's era who didn't feel happy in the role that society placed upon them. It is very easy to romanticise the past, but the truth of the matter is, many women felt pressured into a life they didn't want or didn't feel they could live up to. The images we have of the "perfect 50s housewife" was not very realistic. At least now we have the choice of ho

How NOT to get a two year old ready for bed. 1. Give said child a bath. 2. Dry him off and put a clean diaper on him. 3. Go to the bathroom to drain the tub and mop the newly formed lake off the floor. 4. Don't notice two year old grabing shoes and sneaking outside. 5. Continue picking up wet towels as child wrestles the dog<BR

While driving to work this morning, i happened to catch a quote by Howard Dean. He was talking about how terorist threats and terror warnings should NOT be made public, they "cause too much panic" and stress among everyday people. The only people who should be given this information are public officials and emergency response teams..... WHAT THE HELL?!?!

Yet another piece of evidence it isn't the color of your skin but how IGNORANT you act. Outstanding article once again....I love how you find words to express what many people feel but can't quite define....

What US Senator in thier right mind would put themselves out for the stoning that was sure to come? There were no less than 3, count 'um, three different investigations into the vote count. To come out and say that you think there should be an investigation of the investigation (by neutral parties/Repub./Dem) would be political suicide. It would be essentially seen as dragging out a process that was being dealt with in every possible way

With all the intense feelings on both Republican and Democrat sides, I thought this could lighten the mood..... One sunny day in 2005, an old man approached the White House from across Pennsylvania Avenue, where he'd been sitting on a park bench. He spoke to the Marine standing guard and said, "I would like to go in and meet with President Kerr

I had one of the coolest moments today.....I was watching my son play and realized that there was a method to his madness. Humor me as I attempt to share his way of speaking. He is playing with a bunch of Fisher Price Zoo animals in his room. He is narrating as he plays, directing them what to do. First he shows them the slide ...."here whee"

No, no, no. Alcohol was not involved. I was just making that statement to eliminate the drinking sories. I was more interested in whether people did other mildly stupid things. I think drinking (alcohol) or smoking when you are pregnant should be criminal. Maybe I'll blog about that....

So I am sitting up at 11 am feeling as though it is 6 am....no. That's not the way to put it. I'm sitting here feeeling sluggish, lazy and unable( or maybe just unwilling) to move. This is not a usual state of being for me...even at 6 months pregnant. I learned at a young age that sleep is good. Sleep is important. One of the most important thin

"Men marry women hoping they will never change.....Women marry men planning the changes....." Stupid quote, but it's true more often then not. My husband isn't who I thought he was when we were married.....he told me point blank, "I'm a closet slob" Having seen his wall locker, I believed him. What I didn't realize was that the Army kept it confined to his wall locker.....he REALLY meant, "I'm a slob in hidding....just wait till we
