*Alison, a fair question. I can see people putting them and Nicole Richie on their lists, I chose not to put them on mine. First, they're not all over the place like many on my list are. If you don't watch shows like Entertainment Tonight, or read a tabloid, or don't watch Fox much, you'll never see them! Other networks will not be fond of mentioning the stars of another network's show. Second, even if you do see them, they never say an

*King, great minds must truly think alike! My personal theory on who wins presidential elections has been that the candidate who is easier for comedians to imitate always wins. That made Bill Clinton a two-time, two-timing shoo-in! Thanks for the link! Isn't everybody insured for the Polar Ice Caps melting? I also have coverage for poltergeists, ostriches, tse tse flies and new Scott Baio sitcoms! *KellyW, I wonder if his Ba

Hello Again, I've said it before, and I'll say it again.....Blogging is at least a thousand times better than chat rooms.....Whatever my opinion of President Bush may be, I think his father looks much sleazier and more crooked than his son does.....He's always looked like someone who knows something critical to all, and isn't telling, even though we have a

Dharmagrl, No telling with the King, but I'm sure he's not the only one if he is! Something tells me that you are very happily married! More power to you! Thanks for the nice words, As Always, Anne

Maybe I should revive Heads Up for this one! *Dharmagrl, thank you for saving me the trouble of taking the too-easy cheap shot or obvious quip at our naive correspondent. *Kingbee, as a great and glorious king, you are sooo wise, as you always are! *KellyW, Your grammar is fine. Thank you for the nice words! *wuxiaomao, I saved you for last. Just how much time did you spend with the Red Guard? Stick to your

Heads Up, King, Points well taken, I have seen the Simpsons many times, and they do kick pomposity in the ass. Any show that does that is ok with me. Isn't it kind of a shame, though, that a cartoon can get away with that but a live-action show can't? TV shows, especially sitcoms, have run the concept of subplots into the ground. Very few are good at it. But then in the overall scheme of TV things, very few TV shows are good.

Heads Up, King, On your first topic, that sounds like something Curtis Springer would have sprung on the unsuspecting. Just his voice had me in stitches. I laughed so hard, I had tears flowing! On Rocky & Bullwinkle, two big differences: The Simpsons are on Fox, and they don't make political statements like Moose & Squirrel did. My favorite: Bullwinkle asks what Army Intelligence is, and Rocky says "That's a contradiction in terms!" <

Heads Up, Hunch Players, I have a recurring dream.....A king jumps out of a playing card and chases Felix The Cat with his sword.....It always ends with the chase in progress.....Why?.....I'm not the type to wonder what dreams and nightmares mean.....But I wonder why this one pops up over and over.....Besides "Giant" (way overrated) and "Seconds", did Rock

Heads Up, Habitants, I need to make some corrections on earlier dispatches: I was too hard and judgemental on Carribeans and cholos. I forgot about a very nice Carribean lady I met recently, and who, unfortunatly, has left the neighborhood. Just because I saw one act like a jerk on a bad Saturday Night I was having doesn't mean I should stain the

Heads Up, Harmonizers, It's all self-explanatory: Songs and/or artists I NEVER want to hear again! An asterisk * indicates that I'm fine with the artist, but not the song. I'm sure my list, like the others, will be incomplete and not all will agree, but I'm not speaking for all, just little ol' me. Ready? Get out your cuspidors..... Billy, Don't

Heads Up, Gideon, Mike Tyson is beyond pathetic. He seems to be traveling down the same, sad road that Sonny Liston followed. I don't have an answer to his problems, but I do hope that he's one day able to find peace and stability in his existence. The Dodgers just made a flurry of dumb trades in the apparent assumption that they were going to get Randy. It didn't happen. Bye-bye NL West title! Buh-bye wild card! Good thing I'm an An

Heads Up, O Great and Glorious King, King, I'll dance with you anytime. I wondered if anyone would ask about my answers. Thanks for taking the bait, O' Majestic One. Heads Up, Kingbee, Your three mentions are deserving of consideration for my list, or anybody else's list. Sam Cooke, like so many others I mentioned, died needlessly and far too soon. The Great White Steamship to Catalina is now grounded in Ensenada, and efforts are under way to raise financing to dislodge it and make a museum out of it in San Pedro. I confess I don't know much about Mr. Waters, but I do know that he is a legend in R&B circle

Heads Up, Gideon, Two excellent examples of who I should of included! The only reason Satchel Paige didn't pitch in the majors earlier than he did was because Judge Landis was Commissioner. Some say that Judge Landis saved baseball. Phooey. I think he held up progress. I've always felt that the Judge, Cap Anson, and Charles Comiskey, one of baseball's biggest scoundrels ever, should be removed from the Hall of Fame. All three played major rol
