Youthsmooth, I know you received a bit of a thumping - all well intended and absolutely correct - but I do empathize with your desire to learn and "create". As was said earlier, you don't necessarily need a string of qualifications in graphic design, or even drawing, to produce something admirable. If you have passion, some ideas that excite you and are prepared to practice lots... you'll get there! Find a friend who likes to draw; join a local art class - or just get a sheet of paper and a p

I too was confused by my e-mail from Stardock - the header said WB 3.2, and the body text said 3.3. When I e-mailed Stardock, it was returned as "unknown". Curious.

A beer is out of the question, I'm afraid - all that noisy froth & bubbles... but a roast beef sandwich is no problem (without any loud, crispy-crunchy lettuce, of course!) Actually, I spend very little time in here. I'm normally found just outside the Quiet Room in the corridore with my feet up enjoying a nice cool beer, or six!

There's a little bit of chatter starting in here - but, apart from a couple of rather loud exclamations a while back, at least it's in nice muffled tones! (Thank you) Hope this is OK with the majority of resting visitors and that you are still enjoying the tranquility of our Quiet-Room hideaway.

Glen Eric Reed - confused about time differences... Aren't we all! But basically what ever it is there, it probably isn't here (but that depends on where there is and if here is here, there is there and where everywhere is at a given point in time there (or here). Hope that clears it up. For the record, it's Thursday morning here, a little past 10 am. But elsewhere it isn't. <img src="http://ima

That's not fair - you know I'm a really generous (if mal-adjusted) fellow... you can munch on at least half the chockie-wall! Besides it's self regenerating isn't it? Lots for everyone!

Glen Eric Reed - being a hopeless coffee devotee, I was being really selfish by keeping your excellent brew-thread to myself - hoping nobody would notice... sorry. A small correction: it's not tomorrow morning here any more. It's this morning still, although, according to the times given here, it's yesterday today! And here are the winning Lotto balls: pink, blue, a sort of muddy yellow one, red, another red and a really dreadful one with strange chocolate dragons painted on the side

Yikes - I herp by pongue boing bhat! /me quickly modifies head protection into full steel armour-plated version, runs at wall (forgetting we're dealing with a highly magnetic substance here...) Now I'm stuck both magnetically and chocolatelly to this blasted wall!

Well thanks very much for all the sympathy - no, no, the pain's subsiding gradually - I'll live... /me ponders feline's sudden shift from brick-bricks to chocolate-bricks and quickly designs special forehead padding to avoid denting chocolate coating. /me tries out new invention, bounces back in abject pain - decides to head-butt wall next time with tongue extended to gain small flavour-reward.

...a detail often overlooked... underspoken, sidewaysheard - and, dare I say it, .... /me chickens out on this final point at the last moment. Bangs head against wall... er, bin... again. Owch, that hurt!

Hey - I'm in here! /me empties pockets of remaining borrowed wall-electrons, looks sheepish and hums the final act of "The Cherry Orchard" (the wide-screen braille version) while banging head against side of bin. Tea, anyone?

/me awakens from a short cat-nap (apologies Feline) in the "Quiet Room" thread... Wow this is quite a thread in here, isn't it?! We're flip-flopping between my "sleeping arrangements", deep relationship problems, tummy-rubs, spelling bees... not to mention chocolate dragons (damn, I just did!) and gender issues. If there's any paper left over from the Hampster bedding, it'd make a best-seller! /me tiptoes back to the "Quiet Room" to ponder on these and other things - stubs hi

Woops, sorry about the slight delay getting back to all those wanting to hear about my Cook Island vacation. The reason is that I'm never able to sleep with any of you... er, perhaps I should rephrase that... you see, I'm in Sydney, Australia ("Down-Under") and when you are sleeping, I'm awake - er, and vice-versa. (That's not counting sleep-time at the office, mind you! ) I did send all of you c

Scribbling fine, Elfkura. In fact I've treated the message reply box with a special, washable surface so we can scribble and scribble without having to worry about the mess. Let me demonstrate: "Blah, blah, blah, (scibble-scribble) blah, blah" Now I give it a simple wipe with a clean, soft cloth... "................................................." See? Clean again, ready for lots of new scribbles. And yes, it still makes excellent hampster bedding! <b

With all the constent chatter coming from the ChatRoom Marathon thread, here's a nice quiet place for you to sit back, relax and be "at one" with your thoughts - a tranquil rest-room where you are encouraged to simply stare at the empty reply box without feeling you have to contribute anything intelligent, witty, topical or controversial. Here's a sample of what I mean... " " See how much more relaxed you are now! Try it yourself, but remember, don't be tem

Good grief! I just got back from ten days vacation in the Cook Islands, South Pacific (look it up in your atlas!) and this thread's still going!! It took nearly as long to load the thing on my slightly asthmatic modem and another three days to scroll down to the bottom. The gals seem to have kept it alive with fewer and fewer chaps participating (interesting) but the topics have made for some fascinating reading! Mind you, I don't think I'll be printing this thread out (for analysis) as I si

...and a huge round of applause for the lad from Queanbeyan who managed to keep his cool and peddle the Minardi through the debris and on into 5th place. Those two points will certainly help the team's piggy-bank for 2003. Onya Mark!! (...would have loved to have been at the Minardi party last night!!) <img

Yeh, that sure was scarey..even more so for Mark I suspect! I shall never forget doing a brief session at Le Mans in the early seventies, testing a Prototype owned by Lord Hesketh. A young James Hunt was also there that day! (He went on to do rather better than I!!) One day I'll stop telling all my friends how unbelievable F1 is live - and finally go to an AGP myself! Monza, Silverstone, Brands...all great, but my personal favourite so far is Spa. I'm sure I'll enjoy Albert Park just as much
