Over the years, I've downloaded so many skins that I'll probably have to un-install solitaire to make room for them all! I used to log-on two or three times a week but, now my business contract has completed, I'm logging on twice a day! The rest of the time I'm designing stuff (including new ideas for skins) on CorelDraw - and with all the rain we've been having in Sydney, I'd be spending most of the day and night computing. /me suddenly realizes he's hooked too... And because everyone will know when it's birthday time, a special "Birthday Skin" could be created for the lucky person. For example, on the 18th, mine would ooze with personality, charm, good looks, a sharp wit and confident benevolence - ah, what a skin! /me ducks to avoid a hail of food scraps hurled from another thread I'll go now...

As I suggested in "another place" (the February Birthday thread, actually) how about a selection of WB themes based on Astrological star-signs & birthstones? Imagine the skin for the current period, Aquarius, with extensive use of Amethyst textures (birthstone for Aquarius) and custom designed astrological sign (the "Water-bearer)for various icons etc. There could be plenty of scope for originality - and there are still eleven more star-signs to go! Just a thought... <

I'd very much like to input something seriously intelligent at this juncture along the lines of "I am - therefore I is..." Er, no... "I are!" Darn it, now I is - um, I ARE confused again. (As I said, I'd LIKE to say something intelligent...)

Ah, I've just located the mystical portal and I'm entering a strange and wonderful new world... I picture myself in a boat on a river, with tangerine trees and marmalade skies - Somebody calls me, I answer quite slowly... Dammit, I'm back in 1967!! Somebody - Help meee...

Hard to follow this mystical food-planet thread, as here in the inverted land of Oz, all we have are Vegemite seas, Iced Vo-Vo mountains and Billy-tea Koala-dragons. And I didn't go to work today because it was too hot! ...But I digress...or maybe not... (er, sorry, I'll go away now)

Hey, who's y' daddy? As newly appointed "Elder Statesman"... oh, all right "Old F**t"... I look forward to some serious respect from you young things - or I'll belt you with my Zimmer Frame! Besides, I'm old enough NOT to remember too much of the 1960s! (or the 70s, 80s & 90s come to think of it!) :I

Well, to tie WB skins with birthdays, how about a "Star-sign" series? ie; this month it's the turn of "Aquarius"...and so on. Each Star-sign skin should perhaps include the relevant astrological symbol (eg. Aquarius="Water bearer"), along with coloring associated with the "Sign's" birthstone (eg.Aquarius="Amethyst") Just a thought...

All righty then... the "Anniversary of my Natal Genesis" (birthday) is Feb. 18th - and for those interested, I'm located just north of Sydney, in Australia...("G'day!) [Do I get a card or gift, I wonder?]

The way WindowBlinds 3 automatically downloads & installs a new skin is quick and much simpler... but, I've found that when I download an "updated" version of a skin that's already installed, it automatically creates a second file which does not open. For example, I had the "Granite" skin already installed and recently downloaded the "Granite" update. Windows Explorer now shows two "Granite" files in the WindowBlind folder: the original "Granite" and the new one which appears as "Granite(1)". T

I too am finding the site very slow... and, to make things worse, I AM accessing through an already painfully slow 56K modem all the way from Sydney, Australia! Also the resolutions of the Window Blind skins shown on the web pages seem to have deteriorated of late - makes it quite hard to pick a decent design, especially having waited so long for the page to load!
