Ya, they NEED to make a campaign. I am honestly disappointed in that. Still, the game is such a blast to play. Start making the expansion! Go GO GO!

Be aware that the income from the asteroids is minimal at best. You will lose money per tick unless you play it right. Also, the max log and tac is lower than a planet, so you can't have quite as many defenses as a planet and the colony health is like 1/3 of what a planet can be. So it can be a harder choke point to maintain, despite this they can still be formidable when backed up with a small fleet.

I am hearing for folks on other forums that they cannot create a new account for galciv.com, metaverse, and such. Apparently errors vary. They are experiencing some frustration.
Yes, planets have a solid limit of 100 billion, despite everything. Then planets have a limit based on PQ. Higher the PQ, the higher to overall pop. i raises rather quickly compared to the PQ.
I suspect Ranger finds are more common on large and gigantic maps. Most likely because there are many, many more colonies involved.
0_0 They have been replying to threads since before release all the time. I am sorry to be so frank, but are you blind? I have seen lots and lots of feed back about the bugs. If you need to ask whether SD cares is an obvious sign that you are ill-informed of their presence on these forums.
Well, whatever you folks do, I hope to see some nifty effects to accompany the blast. A spherical wave of energy and such. I look forward to the add-on(s).
spoilerish---- In the Campaign, they appear at like mission 4(maybe 3) called Siege. In sandbox, regular game, I am not sure.
BoogieBac, why not give Terror Stars Death Star like strength. Have them blast just a planet. Hence, adjacent tile and such. Attack could be initiated at your turn, but doesn't happen unless you have full movement points, hence a charge up of one turn. This allows the defenders a turn to respond. This is still a devastating attack. Most systems only have one colony, anyway. Otherwise, if you were to do the system-wide kill, then yo
by the by, that was in the campaign. second mission, as I recall.
I had the some situation, sadly I am not at my computer. And yes, they drop influence bases all over my system. It really is annoying.
Are Terror Stars still around? I don't see their tech tree. I was kinda curious why they were removed. I used them in some games of GalCiv 1 when I was really evil and militant.
you need star cartography to see the stars and planets, otherwise, just the stars. the anomaly info, i suspect is debug info left over from the beta.
Awesome, thanks BoogieBac. We in the game can work to maintain continuity between all the clients. A list on the front page of that thread, for example. Awesome. We won't be doing anything with it until the weekend so folks can get them game and get some experience. Thanks.
Ok, some folks and I from penny-arcade forums want to do a succession game. Whereas, we basically do the PBM situation and pass the save file around via email. THe KEY difference is that we are playing the same person. I play ten turns, save, and pass it to Mr. X. He plays ten turns, saves, and passes it to Ms. Y... etc. What files would we need to include besides the save file? Ship design files? A map file? A config file? As a s
specialize planets. make one planet an industry planet which churns out ships, another a research planet. another, tax money (entertainment for good morale, some food facilities, and a market thing). With enough industry, you can churn out you ships just as quickly. also, adjust your sliders and stuff for your tax rate (keep approval just above 50%) and try to have your budget in the green with a slight profit. if you aren't building ships,
I personally engine a deep and engaging story for my TBS and RTS. For example, C&C. That got me hooked on PC games (although I played many prior) in the first place due to its interesting story as well as the story-telling method.
I may try to make my own BoogieBac. I suppose it all depends upon what it is like in there and whether I can automated some of the tedious parts. Thanks for the heads up. I am not at my computer with GalCiv2 on it. Is it easy to identify which files are the maps?
aw..... well.... i guess.... any chance you goes could tell us a little about the map file format? If it is a simple binary, we could prolly write our own in stuff like Matlab, C++, etc(or even WinHex)... If it was an ASCI script file or something, a similar process could work. Please?
I work as an engineer, and all I can think is about this damn game. I actually named a signal "drengin" in a design.
I buy industrial, a colony, and maybe a scout. after that I save money as I can. I also tend to just buy the first industrial pad for each colony.
-80%? is that approval (empire wide) or on a particular planet? What government? More advanced governments have stronger economies and such but lower morale. Is all the population on your planets needed? If not, remove a farm and lessed the spare people, hence morale will raise. ANy morale resources? I think there is a starbase module that raises morale, but I am not sure.
Really, what you describe sounds like a starbase built from a constructor, but I think I see what you have in mind. Some form of colonization or resource harvesting of things like gas giants. It would be cool, IMO.
No bugs for me. Stardock, you are standing strong as model game developers (indeed software in general). A highly stable experience.
