TO MUCH of a coincidence in my opinion. Perhaps it could be part of an evolving storyline. Now is the time to to take GC to its next plane of existance. HBO & Cinemax! Mini-series! W/R Suralle

Wheres the emot for drools! Just figured out that the best way to view your screen shots was to maximize space in IE... IR a silly kitty somtimes. W/R Suralle
I personally like to tweak my humans a bit, the get a bigger bonus, legally of course. W/R Suralle
Well as the good reverend always says: It can only get better when beta... er gamma is over! W/R Suralle
The PC way of stating: "That AI is long dead." 5) Look at the lovely pasture that the older AI is in! 4) The AI your referring to has retired for the corporate world. 3) Its not dead, its simply moved on! 2) Really, were very sorry, its not like the AI was really living before we pulled the plug. 1) "Its life Captain, but not as we know it, not as we know it." "Its dead Jim dead!" W/R Suralle
I would have to use that one to go around and show the flag, because, of it gets whacked I would be crying in my spilt milk! W/R Suralle StrayKat Very very nice btw, reminds me of a futuristic submarine.
I would like to clarify a point here on hard points... There are a few pods and extensions available in Beta 5 that add well, a proverbial metric butt-ton of hard points to your ship. One of my favorite designs consists of a small fighter with cylon type wings swept backwards and the gull wings coming out on a slight angle ( I will try to save a copy next time I am actually playing) as the cylon wings extend under the gull wings I add a extension pod for mounting my weapon
Just to add fuel to the fire... I noted that some of the mass drivers mount backwards last night also. Imagine: #1: "Captain, fleet is in standard V awaiting orders to shoot all main rail guns." CO: "Very well number one, commence shooting, salvo mode only, on main rail guns." #1: "Commence shooting, salvo mode only, on main rail guns, aye." #1: "Fire Control, commence shooting, salvo mode only, batteries one and two." FCT: "Comme
Yeah my mother in law and best brother in law live like 6 miles and change ( rougly 10 KM) down the road, wife grew up basically right around the corner... small world whether we want to admit it or not. W/R Suralle "the purr-fect" Straykat (Just ask him, he will tell you!
Rule of thumb in combat is that the person who strikes the most swift and first usually has the best chance of winning with combat odds are less than 1.5 to 1. To ensure victory a 2 to 1 ratio is nice but a 3 to 1 normally gives the best chance of victory. Although the exact code is unknown to me I can assure you the tactic you have deployed prior in GC1 works in GC2 as well. Speed and sensor can assist in avoidance of contact until you are ready to fight on your own terms. Remembe
The cost for upgrades was significantly reduced, however, given the nature of the beast, there is labor, material, maintenance, crew costs, sewage, electrical, water, drydocking fees, specialist fees, increased security due to vulnerability... yada yada yada... All those make the cost and time of upgrading more than simply slapping a new engine and a sparkly new Straykat Aerospace Projectile Gun in place on new ships. I concur with the overall thread though being that upgrades simply
No worries there, if you limit food production the population will not grow beyond a certain point. Per the matter you will get a quarterly or yearly report in which the system will state how well your population grew the last year or past few years as the case maybe. Once everything is stable (no random events) you can also keep an eye on the week to week growth in the lower left corner. I do know that at a specific low level moral around 32% or so population indicates a massive de
I will be adding a small bottle of tylonel with the champagne. W/R Suralle
Screw the story (although it was freaking fantastic) show me the videos! Every time I clicked on a ship design I was always trying to freaking rotate it! Up, down, side turns angles.... bah! One time I even went to freaking save one! I am spending way to much time in ship design! Although I have to admit its really cool when one does a back roll after whacking another fleet! More video! The populace loves violent video! Especially battle scenes just ask the mob! W/R<
FM99.com nothing better than DJ Shelly kicking out the 80s at 8 and some the hummer of the week. W/R Suralle
After setting up a 50 = Tech, 25 = Social, 25 = Military, budget with around a 32% tax base on two 19's, two 15's, one 14, and a couple of Mars type planets I was able to research two weapons techs (missle and gun) as well as all defensive systems while playing 6 AI opponents all on intelligent, plus keep up with a navy that could hold its own on a one front war. Now what does this have to do with espionage. The last tech I researched in beam weaponry was... well beam weaponry, yet by the tim
Depends a whole bunch on what you select in the start of the game from uncommon, occasional, abundant... etc... etc... this has an effect on both stars and planets (one of the key ways of getting rid of all the class 0 planets is to play with the startup data on planets) speaking of which, getting rid of them can save your bacon if your AI enemy gets that random event that gives two sectors from star system all the planets are now 10! W/R Suralle Straykat PS: I believ
Wondered about that trade value myself, on intelligent the AI is downright rude. So what if the technology I am giving them is two generations old to me... the techs are still light years... well light months ahead of the ones they are holding. Although a nice normal AI setting gives me more money it dulls the sheen on playing as the only way to keep some of the computer opponents in the game is to subsidize their techs and sometimes their navy's, which can be cool later on in battl
Well if Multi Player is what you want, I can list a few Trade Wars sites that I believe are still open. Plenty of MP, strategy, tactics and action there as well as a way of keeping score, you can run scripts on most site and sit back with twiddling your thumbs waiting on the few seconds of shear terror knowing that you only have half a hundred moves left but the other 4 players who have teamed up are all searching for you and your didn't have enough fuel left on your planet to move it back to

When the champagne arrives ring a toast to the other folks that put in an automatic 12 hour day as well as yourselves. I am impressed with what I am seeing right now. Can only imagine how well it will be when finished. The last version of Galactic Civilization came with me when I left the United States behind on my final submarine mission in a long career. Funny, it used to be fun, going places that no one else had gone, seeing things that never happened. I miss the people but I d

Yes it works but I get a run exe unknown error. Work with CariElf this afternoon/evening for a bit. Seem like the problem is with hardware point sprites. She has the debug.err file and the exception reports. I could use an explanation of the difference between the software and hardware mode though besides the obivious electronic difference. Is shading a factor? W/R Suralle
That would require more control I feel of the type of troops I am sending down... mainly armor, high end infantry, mobile vs airborne levels etc... equipments. Do they have the start of the art tanks or the hand me downs. What about missle tech etc etc. Last, cinematics, like the ship battles. Nothing like seeing some explosions with body part flying all over... jmho W/R Suralle
In the tyrant series of jupiter attacking ships fired first usually because they had the range or made a move to put them on the z axis pointing in the right direction. Good strategic positioning decided the tactics of the fight. For 22 years I studied the art and science of ship manuevers in all axis of warfare under some of the best commanding officers that have ever served under three flags. The way to make a single fighter take out a battleship is to find the weakness. Until h
