I know for game balancing issues that the components change size with hull size but its still a big pet peeve of mine. The AI is or being held to be the greatest AI around for gaming, and truthfully I believe it does a superb job. I just can't see my Electronics Chief coming up to me and stating that system A (which is small) does the same job as system B (which is electronically a copy of A only bigger), but due to the f act we are classifed as a large hull we have to install system

Veblen, Extremely Insightful, wish the button worked so I could push it a few times for your post. Thanks! W/R Suralle
Interpretation provided by Che-Rene, Kat Lady @ Large, Mate to Suralle, Primary Keeper of the Kat Faith Lord Gats-Ton looked anxiously over at me; I remember his tail being quite rigid and ears laid back almost flat on his skull, and stated that Pryde intelligence suggested that although this particular Yor fleet had a very limited sensor range perhaps we should do an oblique turn and high-tail it in another direction. I grinned a toothy response at him reminding him t
Interpretation provided by Che-Rene, Kat Lady @ Large, Mate to Suralle, Primary Keeper of the Kat Faith No means no! I do not care how far we are out of the area the Kat Council determined as the stepping off point. We will continue to shadow their main battle group at extended sensor range. We intend to see where they are headed and as long as they do not deviate off projected course and increase speed we will not break radio silence for anything! A
So far as the voting goes on and the polls have yet to close on the top 3 AI races Altarian - 8 votes Arceans - 15 votes Drath - 0 votes Iconian - 0 votes Korx - 1 vote Terran - 0 votes Thalan - 0 votes Torian - 12 votes Yor - 4 votes What say you all? The Arcean seem to be winning by a smidgen over the Torian. If I was a SD man I may put up a poll on this on the login. Just on a hunch to see which AI needs some catching
The Pryde Interpretation provided by Che-Rene, Kat Lady @ Large, Mate to Suralle, Primary Keeper of the Kat Faith The world now named Prydelan contained a single super-continent, with a few smaller isolated continents spread throughout the remainder of oceans. Fertile land with an enormous wealth of minerals covered by lush tropical and subtropical jungles and forests abound, predators and prey flourished. There was no need for sapience and very littl
Yes, you can go into the GC2 directory area and modify the non MetaVerse data on computer players to your hearts content. So in that line of thinking the answer is YES the AI players can be customized. W/R Suralle Straykat Kat Lord @ Large
I receive an error page when I mark a post as insightful. This could be due to the system not yet being set up. Over on the MV side there is a statement that infers that the system has not yet been activated. Lag is what causes 99.967% of my double posts. The other portion is usually me being to quick on my mice. Good hunting, W/R Suralle Straykat Kat Lord @ Large
Good discussion, perhaps if the average score portion was dropped as has been suggested in the past more folks would submit losing games. Definitely would be useful in a statistical probability equation. W/R Suralle Straykat Kat Lord @ Large

Starport, Factory, Lab... market next if the PQ gets adusted for habitat reasons. W/R Suralle
In a word "Diplomacy". Breaking it down. There is an entire line of research for Diplomacy. Now throw in your cultures influence, military power and credits in your bank account you can think about starting to trade for just about anything. If your to weak in Diplomacy though compared to the nominal value set for that minor race they will blow you off frankly, you can overcome this inadequacy by trading higher for the goods which makes them of course not as cost
I dunno, on crippling the AI did a pretty good job here in 1.2 the Drengi managed to field (in two seperate games now) exactly the same tile builds I had. As I said in another post, no matter what thats just plain freaking scary. W/R Suralle Straykat Kat Lord @ Large
Are you all that are in favor of slowing the tech speed, trading techs? Curiousity is killing the Kat. W/R Suralle Straykat Kat Lord @ Large
Shore the strategy outlined could work but I would modify the long range colonizer a bit, and heres why. Somewhere, somehow, someway, I got the impression from StarDock that all the races were on an equal footing as far as planets go (- the hoomans) everyone else could see where the stars were and everyone else could see that there were planets. Thats it. Thats horse-puckey. I have been playing GC2 for quite a while now and the AI knows exactly where the good planets are I frequently
I usually get whacked if I let the Drengin, Yor or Arcaen dominate to much to fast. I tend to start feeding the other races small ships and some cash if the first two start duck plucking around, but until recently I have pretty much let the Arcaen run willy nilly. The Drengin are #1 on the kick bootie list especially as I am notcing that after taking out the Drengin that frequently their home planet is an exact freaking tile use match to what my home planet is. I dunno whats more sc
And ctrl n does what? Resets the galaxy using the same settings. The user of ctrl n hopes to gain a better foothold this way by isolation from evils and allowing themselves more time to build a good defensive shell around their new planets. If your playing on the MV you have to go through the login again and establish an internet connection,
Coolpete516, Have you recently completed an update or patch from Stardock Central? No matter, even if you have not I recommend that you go to SDC and verify that the serial number in the registration info is the same that you have logged under the serial number for GC2. At any rate if it is the same, you may want to click the button that has SDC send you a new serial number to your registered email address, also in the same area at SDC. If all else fails seek help in the SDC chat r
I am changing the code so that, in metaverse games, you cannot start with relations higher than friendly. I recommend you all drop it down to warm, recently in this current build I was able to cement alliances at friendly with no bribery. Yes I am that special! Mewp! Theres a sweet spot according to what I have read in Frogboys posts about scoring. At a certain point in the now or not so distant future, you will exceed the spot determined to be your optimum point and start losing points instead. I believe that this will be determined by the planet/star/habitation settings you make and maybe population bonuses. Good hunting, Suralle Straykat Kat Lord @ Large
I agree on not paying tribute to a point. I do not go to every screen every turn and frequently I miss when a race goes to war with another race, especially if I am busy doing ship design. What does this boil down to... if the Torian or Yor or whomever are kicking someones butt that I need them to kick and they ask me for some cash I may provide that to them despite whether or not I am ahead or behind miitary wise just because helping them is easier and cheaper than starting my own w
I read the forums every day that I can, one of the things I find annoying though is the fact that I have to make a choice (yes this is a minor thing, so minor one may call it petty, insignificant, minute, small...) either I can clock the back button on the browser which will then not show what I have read in the little cutsey note area or I can click the forum button which takes me back to the first page of the GC2 forum, even though I maybe reading on the 3rd page. Any help with this
Defenses - Good aligned - Two of Three defense agencies agree!!! Shields and Armor are generally better at the research point... However the MD folks "THINK" the telepaths cost to much money and generally are worthless and take up to much space when compared to normal MD defenses. W/R Suralle Straykat Kat Lord @ Large
#4 could you be a bit more specific on what exactly you feel is rubbish? Some folks would find tough to.. well, tough. I find it just about right. I do not need to find ways to circumvent the intent of the game to win enought to stay interested. Some folks might think I play GC2 to easy. Opinions vary based on skill I would suppose. I can say that at crippling intellect I have to stay on my toes to win with any regularity. W/R Suralle Straykat Kat Lord @ Larg
Ever wonder how big a fighter in space actually has to be? Step outside the "Shuttle" size thinking that folks believe. Star Wars really doesn't do justice to size matters... Star Trek tried at first... with the first Enterprize being labled as a scout cruiser... (if memory serves me right) Given the real size of what space ships would have to be especially with backup systems, I can see why planets are defended by 3 or 4 of them.
