Sorry, but your logic is flawed on this one terp. They raise the prices on all items that have a "sin tax" on them whenever consumption goes down. Not for so called "quit assist programs", alcohol diversion programs or whatever trendy name they give it. Look at alcohol taxes in any state, As consumption per annum goes down, the clowns in every state's legislature have been quick to raise the taxes on each proof gallon of alcohol. Proof

Interesting point Mike, for an outsider like myself to understand, perhaps you should expand on your acronyms. We use a lot in the military and when you first use it in writing, you generally use the entire term followed by the acronym in parens. eg: United States Marine Corps (USMC). In other words who is USIS DAC, OOIDA, and such? If I knew, your points would probably make a lot more sense.

They are awful cute Karma. Negatives: they are generally fairly smart and stubborn so they are good at training their owners! Hard to walk in snow due to their distaste for cold bellies. Positives: Smart and loyal, You never fear an attack by badgers! Karma, Is it harder to monitor food intake for multiple dogs? I know that if your Dachsie gets overweight, back problems follow shortly.

You were fairly reasonable Brad, even in the face of ignorance, hostility and just plain rudeness. I am pretty certain that the air in California is a whole lot less orange than in the 60's and 70's, even with lots more cars. Heck most Ultra Low Emissions vehicles leave the air cleaner as they drive to work during rush hour. I don't think the folks at the chimp are going to be very receptive to your pro-business views.

I hope that winter isn't too hard on your hive. What do you do to prepare them for the upcoming cold weather? Do most of the bees die off? Only the workers?

I am sorry you feel I was overreacting Steven, that was not my intent. I can look at the scheduled deployments of the units the military currently has and say, "where are the troops going to come from?" If our ultimatum was to a group or government we are not currently deployed against. Since you were referring to a surge that is at least partly successful as the "stick" in any ultimatum, I will apologize for my lack of comprehension. I wish we could just wipe out the undesirables,

She was one when she was "First Lady" and I don't see any difference currently. I am glad that as a civilian I can say whatever I want about whomever is elected. Until Nov 1 I can't say much about the current administration, so I can only make fun of the other suck ups and criminals trying to get their party's nominations. The fact that when her husband was in office, we weren't allowed to make any comments, jokes or statements about the com

Think Doug Williams too! I suppose it is possible for the general public to put greater scrutiny on Black QB's but why should they or anyone else give a shit? That is the unwashed masses who only wish they could play at that level. I certainly look at wins and losses and my QB's have been sucking this year.

Kaliber by Harp is a "fair" near-beer. Since they invented beer near your location, I am glad to hear that they still make and sell actual beer.

Funny you should mention Stalin Daniel, the 8 neo-nazi scum were from the former Soviet union. They were stupid enough to videotape themselves giving nazi salutes and beating up old men, and vandalizing Synagogues. Their actual justification for emigration was fairly weak. What I wonder is how all of these kindred spirits found each other. Perhaps the lowest of scum slips to the bottom?

Not a good example Steven, When Ike promised to "Go to Korea" it was a campaign promise after a great deal of back and forth combat that cost the lives of in excess of 1.5 million civilians. During the Korean War proper, our country never mobilized it's resources to support the warfighter. We also never built support for our actions at home. It was a good thing the commies abstained in the UN Security council, or it would have been even ugli

After living in San Diego for a number of years, I saw a large number of Mexican trucks that were allowed to travel a certain distance North of the border, and seeing the shape most of them were in made me scared to drive near the border. They were rarely inspected for illegal content, let alone for safety. I am not sure if the insurance laws are the same in Baja California as in Cali but i doubt it. Over 1/3 of all cars from Mexico were uninsured

I believe that the tribunals should start quickly. Habeas Corpus? If they were actually caught on the battlefield as non-uniformed combatants, I have to say too bad. They should have gotten a bullet. For any Citizen who is seen to be deserving of interment in Guantanamo, their trial for treason should start as soon as possible. If they are guilty of acts that would cause them to be considered terrorists, then they should get the firing sq

We are stuck in Korea because the US seems ill-equipped or unwilling to negotiate through the truce toward unification and eventual draw down of US troops. We have no leaders to say, “Kim-Jong Il, tear out the barbed wire.” ! That is a good one Steven. You are referring to a society run by one despot where the population has absolutely no outside information coming in. He ha

Since Israel has a law that allows anyone (even a non-Jew) who had a jewish grandparent to emigrate and get citizenship. They have recently even had citizens who were found to be Neo-Nazis. I suspect that they are rethinking this policy to ensure that any future residents have a religious stake in the survival of their country.

Go up the river to St Cloud, and those clowns in the reformatory eat better than any military member who is aboard a ship while deployed. Jails are another matter altogether. There aren't any Aunt Bees taking biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs to Otis the drunk in any lock up I've ever heard about.

I don't know right now, but with one son now of college age, and his little brother to follow immediately after, I figure I need to find a job in a hurry. The next week or two will be spent packing, fishing and shooting.
