How bad is a country who's leader spends 1/5th of his budget on Arms when over 1,000,000 of his citizens die of starvation? That is almost 4 % of the population. Or how about where you can be sent to the coal mines as slave labor if someone higher in the party hiearchy denounces you. Or you tell your senior spy to train a young girl to plant a bomb on an airliner, killing in excess of 100 people? (young Kim passed the order personal

thanks so much, Put that old saw on the list of things I'll have to answer for in the hereafter. Quit acting like your appearance. Or I'll tell them how large a geek you are!

He would actually have very little autonomy due to the checks and balances built into our system of government, but he could still send me and my brethren on peacekeeping missions on a whim like slick willie often did. The power he could wield with his veto is another worry altogether.

Ah yes the famous "secret society thing". These guys were not really an Elite unit, but they did a lot of work for and with the Elite units. This is one reason they went a bit overboard. Hell When I crossed the equator it was the better part of two days of crawling around, barking "WOG" and getting thumped with a piece of firehose. But it actually was a very fun tradition. Now pretty much extinct since the multi-sex Navy came into bei

My former brother in Law, the father of my only nephew, lost three brothers to HC before they turned 25, and his mother shortly after. I do not know if he ever was checked but I still worry about my nephew, who is a fine young man. Find out and choose to live your life to the fullest no mattter what the results.

Good article Bee, I know it took a lot of work to pull these facts together and I appreciate it. I really don't care what the SBV's say or the candidate himself. Being a "War hero" doesn't qualify you to be president any more than being the son of a president does. The liberal chants of "right on KB!" are to be expected since this proves that the SBV's really have no leg to stand on. I checked out their site and saw the Office

I think I will miss downtown the way it was. So I won't go. vegas is for parties and gambling for hours on end, not picnics and field trips.

I both enjoyed and was amused by your article and the initial response Marco, I therefore have postulated that you are a fine blogger! L W~ How about the corrollary to Hanlon's razor: Never underestimate the stupidity of people in large numbers.

I could have sworn Oneguys statement was straight from the NRA's speechbook.?? Sounds like something Wayne Lapierre would say. Or many of my friends.

I love allegories, but the general population doesn't get them. they want it stated exactly. For some reason this discussion reminded me of the instructions in Survival manuals. How about the instructions on how to skin a rabbit. Step 1: Catch rabbit. Even Elmer Fudd knew that.

Hey I ran into a closed sliding glass door at a friends house when I was a kid. I'd never been in a house with one for any length of time so forgot (never knew) that you see outside when it is closed. oops!

A fine sentiment! I go from reading Johnny M to Poetmom and can enjoy both. My cultural education level must be rising, so thanks!

PK- I said absolutely nothing in my response about his service in Viet Nam. I am referring to his "sevice" on the Senate selct comittee on Intelligence. His record, or non record it seems, speaks for itself. His desire to cut budgets and then throw blame at the intel community, shows us that he truly is a chameleon with no central guiding values except to do what is politically expedient at that
