Fascinating, fascinating reading, so thanks for this! The way I'm looking at it, is I'll update to Vista for two reasons (if it ever actually gets released, that is). 1. Microsoft should've taken it as flattery... But maybe it's a sign, too. I mean, from the reports I've read about Vista so far, Aero Glass was about the only thing it really had going for it. I've said for quite a while now, that when Vista comes out, people will be buying it on the strength of its' looks alone... and, well... if you can get those looks without having to upgrade your OS, why upgrade? Methinks MS got scared...</font

Personally, I think folks in general always wind up asking the wrong question when it comes time to decide on DX's future... it's not about "What CAN DX do", so much as it's about "What COULD DX do". As a programmer, I'm an idiot. As a graphics guy, I'm okay. As a consumer, who's used DX off and on for the last several years, I've gotta say that I'm not finding DX desktops too useful these days, and the gadgets, while offering some appealing

As a WindowBlinds 5 user, I have to say that I was really disappointed in the funky way my desktop folders appeared, when I opened them. My AeroGlass effect was gone... sort of... about 30% of the effect showed up when I moused over the open folder, and still there seemed to be a duplicate window open behind it, that was skinned with the Windows Classic skin... Of course, once the folders were moved around in the sphere, they seemed to have
