To: cactoblasta Your definition of war is too old-fashioned. America crushed the USSR in the Cold War in a particularly complete victory. Mine may be old fashioned but yours is incoherent. There never was a war between the USA and the USSR. There were conflicts fought by proxy; and there was an

To: cactoblasta What was the last war they won? I could reply "What was the last war America won?" The invasion of Grenada? A wonderful testimony to the power and efficiency of American military might, to be sure - much like using nukes to kill mosquitos. Actually I was making referen

To: AndyBaker: Yet God’s aim toward beauty for the bigger picture could also be interpreted as a goal toward salvation and redemption. In this sense, all states of ‘ugliness’ (i.e. pain, hatred, murder, and any path of a lost soul, etc), will ultimately be redeemed in the bigger picture, which is rooted in God's Grace

To: AndyBaker You assume, as most Christians necessarily do, that God's purpose is redemptive and works toward a higher or better state of existence. Struggle, evolutionary or personal, leads to strengthening overall. What if it's not? What if the purpose is not moral and eschatological but artistic? What if God's purpose in creation is to not Salvation, but Beauty?

To: Gideon MacLeish Thank you for the thoughtful words. Yes, we're on divergent paths - but I have more in common with a person of any faith, at all, than I do with those who refuse to believe in what one blogger I know of refers to as 'sky fairies'. The fool hath said in his heart there is no God. But there is - and while it may be a propitious thing to rouse Its attention (may) it is not necessarily a good thing, nor a wise thing. <BR

To: foreverserenity I'm glad you're happy to know God. Despite everything else, you still believe. I believe in the Bornless and the Nameless, something as far removed from the 'Jesus' of my former faith as I am from a worm of the earth. I say that God is Good, God is great, in part as a holdov

To: all In the interests of subverting and avoiding embarrasing nonsense, I want to say this. I am blind, deaf and dumb. I have nothing to say, and nothing to tell. What I know, you know. I am no better than you, and certainly no wiser. All I know and all I understand is this - God is Great. God is Good. And beyond that is nothing but speculation.

To: WyoMoo Thank you. It is my confirmed belief that 'Christians' are least likely to have even the remotest acquaintance with God (acquaintance in the Gnostic sense of the word) because the 'Christian' is more concerned with understanding his or her image of God than with becoming known to the reality of God. I see why this happens: it's easier and less challenging. I sympathise with the human motivation of those subject to that particular fo

Psalm 139 For the director of music. Of David. A psalm. 1 O LORD, you have searched me and you know me. 2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. 3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. 4 Before a word is on my t

Well whats was the trick and why is it neccessary to do thing like that to top the list. I don't want to reveal the methods here, because many of them still work even though Admin closed some of the loopholes that allowed one to add points to their own blog. Some bloggers (who know who they are) were cheating the system, their bl

I don't know where people think I might be coming from with this so here's some helpful handy hints toward interpretation of my position. I'm an admirer of the Nazi State and its organization. I have been since I became both old and perceptive enough to appreciate such things. It got things done. Whatever else you want to say about the Nazis, love them or loathe them, they got things done. Look around you. Which of your politicians do you trust to get things done? None of them. I feel t

Link Perhaps our newborn Super-Liberal-Man (aka Lucas) would care to exert his Super-liberal-Man powers against Adolf's Children, rather than indulging in wishful thinking about what should have, might have, could have happened in the past. What would they make of him?<BR

Not an easy decision to make... No, I suppose it's always somewhat difficult to decide to make a child bleed in the interests of its parents warped sense of humor. Or perhaps not, since such mutilation is considered 'necessary' to the well-being of such parents - not the well-being of the child, mind you, but the well-being of those besotted with the good opinion of others. Such a loving mother li'l Ethan must have... Tell me something, 'Christian'. Why are you continuin

I don't mind a good hijack either, as long as it's not some pisshead whining about the original topic or changing the subject to harp on some unrelated (and usually repulsive) political view. That being said...Say no to illegal immigration! Say yes to the fence! It you hate gay sex, let them marry and they wont get any anymore! Free all rappers imprisoned by the white man, kill all the freakin trees just to shut them tree-huggers up, and ignore alien orders! ignore them.

My... aren't we just indignant. If I were you, I'd be much more concerned about sin in my own life before I'd concern myself with what others said or did. And why are you interesting yourself in what goes on in the bedrooms of others? Does the thought of what they might be doing excite you?
