I am way over my head in this conversation, but having read the initial post, I feel the need to comment on the bail-out. From a parent's point of view. I have four children (two step , to bio) I have seen the negative side of bailing out a kid who gets himself in "too deep too often". That particular kid is now on house arrest at his grandmothers, after having served some time in prison. No one has held this child accountable for his actions till now (he is now 19).

Y'all are right. The edit thing will work well if limited to a certain number of minutes. As it stands, if someone posts directly after you, espeically in a thread on fire, you are sol and must post a new response to correct anything you so choose from the previous post. That said, I still hold the words need to stay from the original post, at least till a mod can view. It would be too easy for someone to post something hateful , make sure it was seen by others and remove it (hi

Regarding the "edit post" comments, I contemplated suggesting the ability to totally edit the whole comment for a maximum of two minutes, then locking the original and allowing only commentary edits ("text of post" , "editors mark" "further comments regarding the edits wanted to be made") it might look something like this: "This is my original post *editors mark of some kind with timestamp included* to add this further comment that is relevant to the original"

I still like the idea of first to figure it out prize and booby prize sweepstakes for the rest. but I agree, there are those out there who can complete the game in under five minutes, severely handicapping the rest of the group. hmmmm happy medium... is there such a thing?(maybe john edwards...?)

IMstein, Can you take a photo of that cat condo? need hubby to make one for these chuckleheads who think the christmas tree is their personal hangout.(little one likes to sit mid tree and look out the window. can't decorate it for fear of them knocking the bulbs down and using them as mousing practice!)

A suggestion for the competition. How about, instead of getting rid of the dog clues on the pages when the game is done for the day, instead putting up a new message stating the contest is over so you don't have to keep hunting for the dog who is no longer on any page? further, if you are doing some kind of sweepstakes with the people who did get the clues, why not leave the clues up all day with the initial winner being the one who found them the fastest, and the rest

I have a suggestion for the competition. When you get to a page with a clue, instead of getting rid of the dog when there's a winner, how bout putting a new message there, stating the game is won instead of having to constantly go backto the stardog webpage to see? It gets tiresome hunting for clues that have disapeared.

also, in the reverse, if you have an object dock icon that you like enough to include in your icon package, (for me it's usually thunderbird and firefox because most ip's don't include them) you can edit the png in icon developer and save it as an icon. Also nice , you can recolor to match whatever ip you are using. [edit] ooops, didn't read the last line... I guess if you don't use Iconpackager that tip is useless. sorry!

I wish I lived in your town! I would trust those "badboys" over any of the computer (cough choke cough) geeks we have aroundhere. They over charge and do little better than I could at home. that said, Happy birthday!! and I know whatcha mean about techs being shocked at the displays. I have had numerous tech support guys convinced I had a vista computer and I had to convince them no, it's just an ol xp! the Object Desktop suite really makes a computer shine

every time there is a guichampionship, there seems to be a theme. last one it was all about minimalism. Though I must say the first few blinds were really spectacular.(and not black and blue), the trend this year seems to be black blue and grey.I am trying not to get bored. and am grateful windowblinds provides a colorizable config.
here's an idea to solve ONE of your problems: I never download to the desktop, things get too messy. Instead I created a folder, C:\ Downloads, and I download everything to that, you can then create a shortcut to your Downloads folder and put it in one of your fences.
This is something I have done for years, and since having fences installed have done just as boxxi mentioned and have a folder within fences for downloads. The nice part about that too is, you alwa
