Its to prevent larger hulled ships completely outclassing smaller hulls so that they can still be competitive and useful once a larger hull is available. Basically its balancing i assume.

The consensus seems to be that the defense buildings suck most, with the embassies / farms being the 2nd most hated depending on the players strategy. I am very surprised that there is no vehemence for the propaganda center. I suppose many people dont bother going far enough up the Xeno Ethics chain to even see it You cant have a decent
if you just decide what you want the planet to be when you "accuire it" you just start up a que and thats the end of it at least as long as you have the planetary improvement tree finished Thats what i do but nonetheless its still exstemely tedious. I have a problem of conflicting interests and contradicting arguements, i want a nice big galaxy
Because stock markets do only a little of everything, they are actually quite mediorce. It is far better to not waste tiles on them by having a high econ rating already and instead building more effective morale boosters. Additionally, using up limited space for any influence building is absolutely useless as one can instead build an influence starbase. Farms can actually
Contrary to whats been said, late games on large and huge maps with a lot of star systems (even when your just starting to conquer planets) bog down quite quickly and i find myslef loosing the will to play the game. Ive got too many planets to manage, after a while they loose their individuality and end up looking the same, its also a huge strain to manage that many planets every turn with many of them finishing constructing buildngs each turn. Becoming more of a chore and less fun the more succ
Its probably that particular manufacturers variant of the standard 6600 series card. For example ive got a Gigabyte 6600GT (even though its not the same card, same series not the same card, insert more defining factors) i could find a card model number aswell if i had to. The point is whats the name of that particular 6600 card so it can be avoided/tested.
The same thing happened to me when i changed an icon set on iconpackager, i reset the changes and the ingame text was back.
If that is the case then this game is only a viable product as long as stardock has not been sold, gone broke, goes out of the game business. Quick, how many classic computer games can you name from the past ten years whose publishers are gone? Most of them? Stardock is both the developer and the publisher thanks to stardock central, and while
Its complicated for the first two hours, learn as you play. If your still in such a state of confusion after two hours consult the video tutorials, even then if your still boggled consult the manual. If your still dazed after that bitch on the forums without searching for topics that may help, oh youve already got that one covered.
Earth 2160 in my opinion is worth its weight in bat droppings, its an afront to the long running series of games. Not anywhere near as forfilling as Earth 2150.
Population of an industrial or a research planet shouldnt matter in my experience, only really applying to a honeypot planet. One devoted to providing cash. So on any planet the population only effects that planets income, the growth rate of the population along with other factors, it also effects morale and as a defence against planetary invasion.
Misin: How on earth did you get a setup like that? There were two solar systems almost overlapping because the were so close, think i had it on loose clusters and abundant stars on my huge universe. That and a bit of soil enhancement and some such for the high quality planets.
Military starbases are the most worthwhile where you situate a lot of your ships. So if youve got (like i have at the moment) a military starbase covering 5 planets (all being +8 or higher and 2 are over 20) then that starbase bolsters my fleets defending and intercepting enemy fleets (so i can get my attack bonus in 1st sometimes) and it is of critical importance in close battles. As long as you prevent it from being destroyed, its a rediculously good
They all just went on diets for that week... and stopped paying taxes. No big deal. Happens all the time in real life. If thats supposed to be funny im not laughing.
The +300 Farming tiles are very good in my opinion. The economic bonuses of having a high population are just enourmous. Not so much from taxes, but from trade. If you have all your trade routes from the one planet, and that planet has a very high pop, and you also surround that planet with economic starbases with +trade income modules you're looking at some seriously fat
You can replace "artist"/"art" with "software developer"/"software" in the above and it is probably even more true. And yet Stardock is able to provide free software patches and support. I'm not adamant against the ship pack (as I've already posted above), but I'm curious why you think art is so different and expensive that it couldn't be provided as a free bonus the way t
I support the ship pack IF: - Ship styles uniques for all races - More jewelry Yep. That's precisely what we'd do. It would be stuff for every race. And it would be quite a bit. That does sound fairer, and im sure deciding a final price can be dealt with later as
Your point is being made from someone who knows very little about Stardock. They are NOT greedy like any of those companies you are comparing her to. They will and have put out free bonus material as they have with galciv1 and galciv2 has some bonus material now. . These statements like yours has no place at all here. If your unhappy with galciv2 I suggest not
Looks like you guys have taken the incentive from Bethesda and EA's Euroforce on mini-expansions and add-on's. The problem being is that the consumer is seeing a hell of a lot lesa value for money from these add-on's than from normal retail games and expansions. And it looks to be an increasing trend, providing gamers will relatively small trinkets that are by no means a necessity for a rediculous amount of money compared to the effort that goes into making them. I mean cmon 2 pieces of horse ar
Theyve missed out on a huge oppitunity for some tactical meneuvering involving coordination between the player and the AI ally. For example a secondary priority of AI ally ships defending player ships (perhaps un-armed ships or weaker combat vessels) if there are no other AI ally ships in range etc. Or actually coordinating an attack on a region of space together. Or you could outline a particular overall strategic battleplan in the diplomatic window like, "Fall back and defend Altea
Without reading any of the above, so i can get my thoughts down first and foremost. The figures regarding Gamespot arent especially suprising, its a huge gaming website, with a massive user bse that regularily check for new games, downloads and feature articles. Encompassing almost every aspect of gaming, from news and reviews to its highly active and (often rather immature) forums. So i dont feel that 21% is a suprising feagure, perhaps it
I would love to hear the above debate on the Poweruser TV Podcast (even if its just one side of it) its an interesting fiery subject and should be heard as such. Even if it just ends up being a barely audible knowledgable rant.
More good insights into the realm of game development, however it might be time to start playing it down now. Its nice to see Stardock relishing in an unexpected success, and the immense pride this can generate in the odd individual, but go too far and people are going to start drawing parrallels between your financial success (which is every day looking increasingly to be the making of a case study in "How to make a successful game") and a young boy t
^ Oh no its the dude from the X3:Reunion forums, arghhhh ^ (apoligies if it isnt)
Shouldve delayed 1.1 a bit then, oh no that means those with bugs are left stranded with them for longer. No the right descision was made. I dont suppose it could be released as an addon and let the patches be, you know patches Stardock deserve some support, because theyre nice people and nice people deserve to be able to eat.
