If you block activate.stardock.com the app won't know there's an update. Or, if you are using Fences 3.0.4.12 or higher there is a registry key you can add that disables the check. (I am at home and don't have the link here.)

When you are trying to type on PC2's keyboard during log in does PC1 have mouse focus on PC2? Does this happen if PC1 is turned off?

It's possible that your icons are hiding. What happens if you double-click on the desktop?
Were your fences normal or portals? Have you enabled the Pages feature? (Can you disable it?) You say that 95% of your icons on the desktop are gone but also state that file manager (Windows Explorer?) show no shortcuts. Can you elaborate? Perhaps post screenshots somewhere and link them here? In short, Fences doesn't do anything with files, it displays them in more efficient ways. If the icons are gone (deleted) then it's not Fences. Traditional Chinese is not available at this time and Fences is designed to use whatever your system language is set to but you can override it by adding "en" to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\Fences "UserLang"
