Have you thought about modifying the default template (normal.dot) to have the yellow background you desire (Format | Background | [color])? I love this application! The feature you are describing is the one I use the most, copying and pasting fom PC to PC. Right click on a file on one PC. Move mouse to another, right click and paste. You should see a balloon in the system tray telling you that MP is copying. I have had to wiggle my mouse on the secondary sometimes to see the right-click menu to paste. I set a timer for my object that calls widget.minimize so that a user would see it like a splash scre, know that it was there, then minimize. I plan on adding a(n) "on mouse action" "kill timer" in case the user wants to interact right away.

I always think of Fitt's law when I evaluate whether to download a skin or DX object. Size and targets matter.

I don't know of a way to not show the DX icon in the system tray. I think you could convert any object you have to widgets and set them to not show on the tray or toolbar. That would work.

How do I view the discussion topics that are pushed off the right side of the screen in portrait mode? The tablet PC does not like that part of SDC .
I see the same things you see in the same order plus an item at the bottom called "Unload DesktopX". Let's try something: right click to bring up the menu. Then tap the up arrow once. That should select the first item. Maybe the unload is there but not visible. I just tested and was able to unload both DesktopX and DesktopX Builder by right-clicking on the icon in the system tray. What so you see when you right click?

What windowblind are you using? Perhaps the artist did not full skin all componants available.
The DeesktopX interface was called CUI (Common User interface?). What a brilliant idea. I rembember reading about it and have searched for the documentation (joeuser? off-line) but can't find it. I believe it was concieved to write your custom settings into the registry in a common format so all widgets could apply those settings. I am starting to build my own objects (imperfectly because I have no artistic ability and no scripting skills) so
