Even if it does eventually lose out, it'd likely be in the same way as floppy disks. I.E. still offered years and years later.
True, but it's entirely possible to make a USB controller that plugs into Thunderbolt, so we could see some weird stuff happen.
Usb 3.0 is just getting started. I recently learned my so called 'notebook' is quite capable of handling usb 3.0. The 1TB HD I use is also set up for it. Too bad the internal HD is standard. Now that would be really cool.
I have my suspicions that USB 3.0 is DOA. It'll still be on machines for a long, long time just because of backwards compatibility, but it's new and already outclassed. Guess I don't really know h

I played the beta for a day and uninstalled it. It's still overly kid friendly, gameplay-wise.
So it seems speed (twice as fast as usb3) and daisy-chaining is what's being hyped. Does anyone else think that the speed really is redundant at this stage? Most people are still sitting on non-ssd drives, and would barely be able to push 100mb/s read/write. Transfer a HD movie in 30 seconds? Cool. Your disk will still need 2-4 minutes. All I keep reading is "imagine this would be everywhere. Wouldn't that be awesome?". Well... yes, it
This kind of sums it up for me as well. If a company can't give me the developed content for the game out of the box that I just purchased, then it's obviosly a ploy to nickle and dime me to death in an attempt to make my game fun.
Since you don't purchase a box with Free to Play games, I fail to see your point.
I can wait. I'm sure even once it's been finalized it'll still take a while to see much in the way of games coming out with it. Still, I would like to see it used. At the moment I prefer Steam just based on lack of need to detect/patch, but I'm glad Impulse is doing well
Actually Savyg, there are 4 games on that list that support DX11. Besides, the majority of the games that don't support DX11 listed above have massive performance issues running on just the standard settings on even new factory desktop machines speaks volumes... apparently not to you though. By the way, just because the game is available on PC as well as console does not mean they
There are plenty of graphically demanding games out there, specifically those that utilize DirectX 11 and tesselation. Look them up.
Isn't it ironic that only one of the released games you listed uses DX11? Most of them don't even use DX10. How is that using the power of the latest/greatest desktop machines? Oh right, it isn't. Not to mention no 64 bit clients and pretty much everything&n

I liked them both about equally. I hated the vehicle exploration in 1. The mining in 2 was also a chore, but it wasn't horrible. What I dislike about 1 was being a great soldier who (at first) could barely shoot. I love that about video gaming. They make you out to be a supersoldier who can't hit the side of a barn. Whee.

Me? Rude? Perish the thought! I'm such a bastard! ...honestly though, I have friends who are too stupid to own a computer. The types who continually need people to fix their machines, keep their software up to date, etc. Hopeless. I still love em but you can only sigh after you hear about it the fifteenth time.

I was. All the major browsers bug me. Firefox 4 still doesn't seem as fast as it should be last I used it (and pushed the official 64 bit version back, apparently) and I don't need plugins, Chrome doesn't do feeds terribly well (extensions or no, last I checked,) Opera advertises at me... I liked Chrome best until now, but the lack of feeds thing really annoys me.

Really? Gasp. I never knew. On a more serious note, I love it. I've already enabled tracking protection and I think the 64 bit version is performing acceptably now. Only thing I don't like is it's still more difficult to use feeds than it should be. Bah. Weird when websites provide ten different ways to subscribe to feeds but fail to accomodate bog standard methods.

Except for having a report from a vendor I've never heard of that sounds like a little kid screaming "PAY ATTENTION TO ME" I got nothing. Malware? Never seen any spread through Facebook. All I've seen is stupid people clicking links. Which they do with email too. And web pages. And everything else on the Internet. The safest thing to do with Facebook is the same thing as the rest of the internet. Have a brain. Unfortunately yes, I kn
