"...has always let Arab women vote." ... a strong point that many seem to overlook. I guess the irrational treatment of Israel by the world truly boils down to anti-Semitism; no other rationale explanation for the behavior of so many countries, peoples, etc. towards such a tiny state is conceivable.

"I'd like to hear how allowing dumping of sewage, and allowing fatal levels of mercury to go uncheck is allowing economic growth. You have a polluted cesspool and nothing can live or work there. Care to check land prices near love canal?" Your point suggests that the rich care very little for the average Joe. While I don't think capitalists are monsters, I do suspect that at times they think of the bottom line first & foremost. Without
Where is the American Virgil? But seriously... I challenge any liberal who has voiced opposition to the war in Iraq to speak his piece and explain how that vocal dissent which has been heard around the world has not emboldened the insurgency? Seek counsel of him who makes you weep, and not of him who makes you laugh. ~Arabic Proverb~<br
BTW, I would be interested to hear your view on the subject of over populatation and how it figures into the urgent issues that humankind faces.
Rhetoric is funny in its irony. Bush, the boogey man conservative , does not want to conserve the envoirment in its pristine state in order to make room for progress - to use the resources of the land to stimulate economic growth, creating jobs, among other things. Progressives , on the other hand, seek to conserve the land. They do not want to see it used even though job creation and economic growth- progress -
I will say it until I am blue in the face: the so-called constitutional dissent voiced by the likes of Dean and his ilk, in essence, have supplied the very bullets the insurgents use to kill Americans In Iraq. When asked how it would be possible to defeat a superpower such as America, Ho Chi Min said that: "They will kill many of us and we will ki

bzjaffe- well stated. While I know it exist, the irrational hatred directed at Israel nonethelss baffles me.
Doc - "... strictly business"... whacking Sollozzo & Captain McCluskey. Great stuff!
The cars are pulling up in the driveway, so I must now go & be with family & friends, to honor & celebrate the greatest, and yet most humblest man - who suffered much indeed - of them all: Jesus Christ, who as we all know, was by birth Jewish. ~Merry Christmas~
In The Godfather, Michael Corlone joins the Army to fight in W.W.II. This service for a third party (not part of the family) goes against the belief system of his father, Don Vito. You see, Michael has been Americanized in a way that his father can't understand. The Don is from a culture that developed his consciousness of being in such a way that he cannot comprehend
Great song and a Merry Christmas to you Rightwinger.
On September 23, 1991, King George Bush I addressed the United Nations and said the following in connection with the U.N. resolution equating Zionism with racism: "Zionism... is the idea that led to the creation of a home for the Jewish people... And to equate Zionism with the intolerable sin of racism is to twist and forget the terrible plight of Jews in W.
BTW, my favorite line from the flick is when Clemenza, after just having whacked Paulie, tells Rocko: "Take the connolies; leave the gun."
rightwinger-- Interestingly, in The Godfather Michael Corlone joins the Army to fight in W.W.II, which goes against his father, Don Vitone's wishes. You see, Michael has been Americanized in a way his father can't understand. The Don is from a culture that developed his consciousness of being in such a way that he cannot comprehend the idea of fighting for a Nation-State, in other words, for strangers: Only the affairs of the Family matter in the Don's
My bona fides: I tried to serve in the military, but I look a lot like Mike Moore (except that I have two extra chins that I drag around all day unless I tie them up into one big knot), which gives me a total of four, and unfortunately, at Paris Island, because I could not get my four-hanging chins cleanly enough over the bar (this was before I learned to tie them into a knot; I‘m slow that way), my Uncle Sam gave me the boot. At any rate,

Here's a Bush joke that I didn't repeat during the campaign too much. After the Pres. debates, Bush & Kerry agree to participate in an ice fishing contest over a three day period. On day one, they both set out to catch as many fish as possible. At the end of day one, Kerry has ten fish and Bush has Zero. On day two, it’s the same thing: Kerry 10; Bush zero. At this point, V.P. Cheney is getting a sweaty, so much so that he grabs the Pres. by the arm

Hey Doc -- Interestingly enough where I met Lady Dove (the wife) was in a London movie theater at the concession stand buying beer. It was the American gangster flick, Goodfellas that was showing. As we got to chatting, I discovered her love for American gangster flicks, and knew that she was the gal for me.
Finely stated, Old Boy. Bambi, was the first movie I remember seeing with my dear mother; may God rest her gentle soul. BTW, developing a thick skin is a charity that too few give to themselves, espeically during this hallowed time of year, and yet who do we owe more to? Keep punching, Old Boy…
