While I agree, the actual implementation of such practices would be dicey. We are too pc to come to the point that we can judge (and charge more for) someone that may be overweight. How would the actual implementation of such a policy work anyway? You can't base it off of weight, because a tall, muscular, man may weigh the same as a short overweight man. If you begin asking about height and weight during the purchase of a ticket, (assuming the ticket purchase is

Another way (and perhaps that more true to the Germanic situation) is to take an extremely desperate people, give them their food/dignity/etc. back, and you will have the majority of those people as followers. Majority quickly quiets the minority, and you have absolute power. That can be abused to an extreme as well.
the Nazis took stereotypical german qualities that used to be held in positive regard like punctuality, hard working people, precision, perfectionism, authority etc and made the worst mockery out of them that is possible.
Any government aiming for complete control does exactly that. It seems to be a tried and true process. That is what is happening in America... though, that is a different topic for a different thread, on a different day.
It is sort of shocking to discover that I sort of do the same lol
It's INGRAINED. :D
but I do hope it is at least a little bit interesting and insightful
It was, for me at least, because the question of HOW the people allowed such a situation has flitted through my mind, though I have never committed myself to finding an answer. So thank you.

I think people become wary (and yes, occasionally insecure) when "intelligence" is mentioned because "intelligence" covers a lot of ground. As I stated in your other thread, IQ test examine academic ability, not comprehension levels, or any other cognitive abilities. Intelligence, however, is not simply an academic experience or ability, it also consists of the abilities to rationalize, solve problems (ethical, situational, as well as academic problems), and/or

I agree with you that the situation in Germany was composed of different circumstances. I am not saying that Germany or any other European country should have had similar gun laws. Utemia, I am not exactly clear on what you are saying. Are you saying that we can't say that if the German people had a law similar to the 2nd amendment, then the Holocaust wouldn't have happened? Or are you saying that American's can't use the Second World War, and the Holocaust as validation of their fears that the government might become too powerful?
For Christians like me this is the reason we don't believe in infant baptism. It's a choice we must all make sometime during our lives. It can't be made by another.
Not all churches that practice babtism partake in infant babtism. Thank you for the statement, was just curious. (Ironically, in terms of scripture, I tend to agree with Lula here on why babtism is necessary, though not in regards to infants.)
For salvation. Yes. It's all about belief in God. Not working for God.
KFC, you truly believe that belief is all that is required for salvation? How do you explain Acts 2:38? According to that verse, (even taken in context) belief is only the first step, followed by repentance, babtism in Jesus' name, and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost. I assume you believe in repentance, but what about babtism? Just curious.

Just because I am bored, and it provided a moment of entertainment, I took some random "quiz" about my "political persuasion." My result? I am a "Don't tread on me" Libertarian. I was also provided the following description: You distrust the government, are fiercely independent, and don't belong in either party. Religion and politics should never mix, in your opinion... and you feel oppressed by both. You don't want the government to cramp your self mad

Okay, so the movie is based upon dysgenics... Fascinating stuff that I want to read more about, however I came across the theory that the more children you have, the more likely you are to pass on your negative traits (gene traits). Some of those genes are believed to contribute to one's intelligence, (a positive trait), and so the more children you have, the less of the "intelligent gene" (my name, not scientific) there is to pass around. This is called the "Flynn
Ever see the movie "Idiocracy?"
I haven't, my film experience is actually very limited in relation to the majority of other people. So I went and read the synopsis, and though I am amused (because it is the Eugenic supporter's nightmare come to life,), the fact that it might be a possibility is indeed frightening. But if such a thing were to happen, the death rate would eventually increase, and the birth rate decrease as knowledge
