Stupid Question: How do I start with the default Vista Aero theme as my basis?

I am married with 2 kids. I cannot use that excuse for not completing my first skin though. I spend way too much time at work and then a lot of time playing games. Just completed every campaign achievement for Halo 3 (my XBLA gamer tag is same). I play games on Xbox 360 and PS3. Then I do help at home (vacuum, laundry, grocery...). I used Paint.NET entirely for creating my first skin. It is not complete yet. It is already more than six months on it. Then I purchased Photoshop CS3. I ha
I have both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray drives through Xbox 360 and PS3. I do not buy disks. I only rent them. I really don't care who wins in this race. My media is all on hard drives. I do not need to worry about DRM because they are home videos. In this age digitization, I will not pay to keep media. I can get it when I want to watch them and return them to save precious space. But I am not going to miss out on the quality of high defintion today because there is a format war going on out th
I just had to install Vista to try this out. Dual booting Vista on a RAID 0 drive was a pain. I still have a bunch of issues with this Vista installation, but I am not going to spend my time fixing those. My main OS is Windows XP 64 bit. I really like the look and feel and organization of the new Skin Studio. I have a few comments though. - Can I browse and open a theme folder outside of the public folder? If you are a software developer, you know you don't want make change di
A per user folder is not suitable for WindowBlinds as all skins must be readable by all users on the machine.
May be the forum posts should have an option of some sticky foot notes every reply. Neil had to repeat this multiple times on this thread.
On a network can't you take care of that by setting access to files only to view?
Readonly means someone else on the network can read your premium themes. You know what that means. By law, you
Thanks Bichur.
I have Windows XP 64 bit edition as my main OS. This is what my whole family uses. My object desktop installation is on this machine. Since I cannot use WindowBlinds 6.0 and SkinStudio 6.0 on this, can I install Vista as dual boot on this machine and use the same license for Object DeskTop? It is not clear from the licensing. If not, what are my best options? I plan to keep only one object desk subscription for now. Buy a single WindowBlinds license? I really badly want to use
We'll use this thread as a gauge of interest. Since FrogBoy says this thread will be used for measuring interest, I will post. - I am willing to live with an unsupported x64 edition. - I have been using XP 64 bit edition for the past one year or so. I did not have to rebuild my machine after I installed XP 64 bit edition. I used to rebuild it (OS) every 3 months or so when I had XP 32 bit. Wh
Is there going to be a support for Windows XP 64 bit?
I am one of the unlucky who cannot upgrade. I have XP 64. Not supported. Not sure why? WB 5 supported XP 64.
I can be quite emphatic there is none, not from either the Stardock OR Wincustomize facets of site administration. I was being sarcastic. I have not seen any descrimintaion anywhere on this site, that's just my opinion. I usually ignore whining, but when I see baseless accusations (baseless strictly from my point of view because I don't see everything), I have to voice my concern. Sometimes being silent is equal to approving the accusations. Co
I think the problem might have started with financial gains for Masters. Is it possible at all to not to show the geneder? You wouldn't show the race and religion. I have a question though. How many of you felt being descriminated because of their race, religion or country of origin? The last one being more visible than others, many can claim they are being descriminated. Please don't alienate the best and brightest skinners of WC (I am not one of them) by
Have you heard about the nigerian scams? These emails are from scam artists not real soldiers. Here is an email I keep in my archive. @Neil: Apply skin worked as expected after deleting the *.wb64. I had to wait until apply skin stopped working for start panel items. It is a better solution for me than the current one I use. The trick may that when I delete the skin, *.wb64 goes away with that. Thanks.
I will try as soon as I have a complete reproducible scenario. I have observed that it doesn't occur right away, but after applying the theme over and over after minor changes to images. I do not make changes to images in the theme folder. I have an image folder where I modify the image and then use the import file feature. Note that when you use the import file feature, Skin Studio does not enable the Save button unless the image type or name changes. I just need to click apply.
I have Windows XP 64 bit edition. Is that the problem? I saw some other thread that I cannot remember where someone had issues with 64 bit edition of wbload.exe.
Yes, I do save and then apply. I do not see them as a single button. They are 2 different buttons "Save" and "Apply". If I make changes and try to apply without saving, SkinStudio asks me whether I want to save it first. My SkinStudio version is 5.0.1 Build 1112.
Oops! I ordered a disk for my OD purchase thinking that if I ever decide to stop my subscription, I may need the installation CD. Could have saved some plastic and paper. In the Linux world they say Read The ... Manual. I should have.
Happy Birthday!
This must be a known issue from what I read on several WindowBlind skin download instructions. They ask you to delete the previous version of the skin first! After updating the start panel part of a WindowBlinds skin, if I click 'apply' in the Skin Studio, the changes do not get applied. I tried closing the Skin Studio and then apply the skin from WindowBlinds itself and it still do not work. I know simple apply works for parts like window title, window borders etc. The way I
vStyler, there are some really cool tutorials there. Now that I have PS CS3, I should start learning. I decided to stick with Paint.NET for this skin though. I wasn't doing anything with the skin for about a month. I was playing Gears of War in Insane difficulty. Finished last weekend. Now back to more skinning until Halo 3.
I have the same issue while running Photoshop CS3. I have to unload WindowFX before running PS.
I cannot use it, I have Windows XP 64
