And besides, any other religion would change nothing, just another atheistic endeavor hell bent on destroying your personal beliefs. Why you feel in

Our sciences are no more interested in any god view than any of the gods seem interested in our sciences. No reason why there couldn’t be some collaboration and only one side is responsible for the lack of it. What the sciences do indirectly prove though is that a literal interpretation of the bible(s) cannot be true and the only conclusion (???) one can draw from this is that any religious faith that is based solely on the bible(s) literal truth has to be in err too. Under christian rules of engagement, there is only one absolute and that is unquestionable. When you remove even common sense from the discussion like this, well anything is possible or believab

Karl Marx was a flipping idiot and everything in our government is already broken and has been for years. Surely everything is not the fault of the easy-for-me-to-ignore Marx fellow? But the patent system, that is the root of our crony capitalist nightmare, who would have ever guessed? Sorry if I have not taken this seriously, but at some point we just have to admit that things are FUBAR for whatever reasons … and stop trying to foist the blame for all our woes on anyone besides oursel

RogueCaptain: If communication was of any real interest to you, you would have tried it yourself. When I think of communication, I think of an exchange of ideas not a one way stuffing of ‘orifices’. You professed to know of this ‘religion of atheism’ but became tongue tied when asked. You could have saved pages of nonsense (the kind of doubletalk that has to be filtered) had you just imparted this insight of yours in the form of a simple answer. One would think s

Gay people are not all the same, apatheist are not all the same and religious folk are not all the same, just seems like a no-brainer. There are

When a person requires no evidence or proof to ‘faithfully’ believe in something, what proof or evidence could be offered that wouldn’t be

How imaginative; 'thought crimes' as a religious defense but surely you jest, especially considering that the article concerned those blasphemous homosexuals seeking equality (under the law)??? Heresy and blasphemy seem to be theological staples, have always been considered religious thought crimes, are ever-present in religious circles and come pre-stamped with your idea of the ultimate of penalties. If human physiology is of intelligent design, then the designer needs be fired. If you take evolution out of the equation, who or what is responsible for our current condition? I don’t think this ‘designer’ would have been under any obligation to create a vassal of perfection, but it seems reasonable to expect he would at least do his best. Our jaws are too small to hold all our teeth and as miraculous as the human eye seems to be, it has design flaws that no intelligence co

Neither believing in god or disbelieving in one constitutes a religion … only something to believe in or not. From a theological standpoint there can only be two views; that of a theist or that of an atheist. Well it seems that god is perceived as incapable (in the minds of many) of eliciting due respect or of being amply appreciated on his own merits and must need some organization or another (depends on who you ask) to explain the why’s and how to’s for the rest of

Well, the little wild bugger is still around and has made friends with one of my cats. Everything was well until my cat learned to shimmy up the fence posts and became an inside/outside cat. It took her almost five years to learn how to escape the 'back yard'. We had a battle of wills over this idea for a month or so but as usual nature prevailed and she retained complete freedom, a tale for another time perhaps.

Well, there are distinctions between the incidents but both protagonists were in the active service of the US military. One murdered his fellow servicemen of his own volition and the other murdered civilians in a foreign country outside of military control, likewise. Whatever the legal weasels eventually barter for should not overly influence our opinions on the matter. Unless someone else was spirited in, they are guilty of the atrocities and should be punished accordingly. If our &lsq

A couple of years ago we had something digging up our yard too and being overly humane, we decided to buy a trap/cage combo especially when we could get a three-traps-in-one deal. The first night we were unsuccessful and puzzled as to how the food could be gone and the trap not sprung. Being an engineer I soon had the mystery solved. The second night we put the food (cat food that was recommended with

People put up barriers for the simplest of reasons and that shouldn't surprise anyone. The primeval motivator is fear but fear of what … surely not the truth??? I think the question is why put up any barriers at all? If the truth is of any value no matter how one defines it, then I fail to see why any barrier would be desired let alone condoned? And if the truth is NOT what is to be considered … then what is?
