Mine does the same thing from time to time. I discovered it was happening when the game was trying to autosave... so I set that out to maximum and do my own manual saves. That works. Tha autosave does work most of the time unless there is a lot going on... and my PC... well... it's a little behind the times (AMD-7 CPU). That may account for some things... but in your case? Don't know, but check if the crash might be about the same time as a auto save (be sure the hard disc isn't too fragmented

Woops! I forgot! How does one get presented with the option of what pre-created map to play when making decisions in the pre-game menus? These doesn't seem to be an option for such (in the Alterian edition).

Galactic Civilizations Map Editor (Altarian) in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

I bought the Altarian expansion edition yesterday. Today I have been trying it out. I like it so far :) However, the Map Editor keeps crashing the moment I try to make it do anything other than change objects to be selected in the left or right side panels. Hard to describe the problem... it also freezes the PC when trying to load an existing map from the map folder. Is the a resolution (whatever) requirement for the editor as with the Settlers IV editor (which was 16 bit)? I'm curren
