Hurray for ideas that dont make sense... If anything a smaller ship should be able to accelerate faster since it has less mass. I dont like the how people with such little physics background can come onto forums and start talking about it as if they were proffessors. I want a mod that: -Doesnt allow people under the age of 16 to talk unless they have proven themselvs -Physics filter, if you make a reference to bad physics your keyboard slaps you (

wow geforce 2 card.... if it ever brakes down we can use my atari for spare parts... good luck playing anything on that. "older comp"... Isnt that over a decade old?
Start with a tradeship, pick at least engine and tradeskill. Take everything off it except the engine/fueltank. Do a google for 'plan' to see if you can see any good trades where you start, but as quickly as possible you want to fly to a business base and take out the largest loan you can and do a business study. trade skill is one of the most po
*start* Pick from the biggest hull from the race you pick (i usually do the purply guys [best items] and freightor) i then spend the first couple hours doing "transport" missions "prottection mission" while i buy/sell items (use the thumbs up and down as a general idea when to buy and sell). I also usualy have 1-5 probes going for those nice mod items. Early on in the game you can take the prottection missions and just go do what you want. I also usualy sell my weapons and scann
WOOT ANOTHER ONE FOR THE CAUSE!!! SR2 rocks your socks off.
OK to those considering buying this game... ITS AMAZING! thank you.
*For the devs* Please fix this silly thing! from what you said... it sounds like ITS YOUR FAULT. sounds like your comp is over heating... do as kyro said post your debug.
HOLY COW! I am a mean critic, and this game really blows me away (mind you i do factor in cost for a game). I buy comp games about once every week or 2. And i must say it might be awhile before i get another one. Right now i am so hooked on Space Rangers. I mean there are just so many ways to play. Being a pirite and hunting down trade ships and shaken them down for cash. Trading goods from planet to planet. Being a delivry boy, or getting some lasers and being
What is the appropriate format? Where can I get something to convert the files that is not to expensive? youve made about 6 threads in the past couple hours. Each question could have been answeared if you read the sticky. I hope you get a warn from a mod for this gross spam.
how come you can update from 1.40RC1.051 to 1.40RC2.052 and it still shows 1.40RC1.051 being avialable as an update.
Your so mean... I read this and i have to smack my head against my head. Because its the only way i can cope with not having DA right now.
whats strange is the multiple versions of 1.4 i have gotten so far
On PQ 3, 4, and 5 planets, you can never have more than 5 billion people. Building farms won't help, as the population simply stops growing before it hits 5 billion. As a result, morale buildings are unnecessary on those planets, too. depending on tax rate 2 econ, 1-2 moral
but the DA beta won't be out until November kinda true. DA pre-release beta is being planned to be avialable in November. DA wont be avialable until q1 2007.
waste of time. I would want others to read my story but would i read anyone elses? no i woudl want to play instead of read, so i cant expect anyone to read mine. waste of time.
As far as low quality planets go . . . I usually avoid extremely low PQ planets unless they have a strategic advantage because it's hard to make them break even. Once terraformed, I will use them as economic centers if they are high enough in quality-- as long as they make a profit, they're worth having. I don't do this, but you could simply colonize them and then destroy
Yes, GalCiv2 takes advantage of both processors. wahhh? Last time I checked GalCiv2 doesn't take full use of a dualcore. Taking full advantage would be being able to split the resources of the game it self onto both processors. If a program is unable to do this then windows basicly stick a program to a processor. So windows w
I would also like to back up this bug. Its not really a major issue so i never bothered to report it. This was fixxed for a whilel, i think 1.2 then it came up again in 1.3. Hope a mod/admin/coder gets a look at this
PLease please please..... I need the ability to select what keystroke will scroll the screen. My Nostromo directional pad does not properly support scrolling in GalCiv, because the map-scroll requires a SHIFT. you know you can scroll with the mouse with a click and drag, much more efficient then a keyboard or a psuedo-keyboard (nostromo)
A setting to allow the game to start in whichever resolution my desktop is currently set to. That would make the life of us laptop-users-who-sometimes-play-at-their-LCD-TVs a lot easier. i believe thats what "custom" is
They will know when and they will know how and they know all
Trying to find that post- It was here that I read it. Where a guy was getting his ships smoked- and one of the guys answering suggested that he needed to build up the levels of his ships, since they are alot more deadly. I read that and went, "huh?" All I thought you got where more hitpoints. More hitpoints is not something that makes me fear a ship. The poster seemed
for the past week there has been a thread about this every day. Please use the search feture. And yes, people have been able to get the alliances. A bug was fixed where you were able to allie with someone who was friendly, instead of close. Also bribing will no longer get you to close, instead you need trade to get you that last leg of the way. So yes, people have been able to get alliances.
Trade Its the only way to get them from friendly or close. Bribing doesnt work anymore.
nah its fine. That and the low res planet models are the onyl thing i have noticed at this monstreous resulution. (the terrans have a black head on there nose btw)
