I'm only on my 2nd skin, and I am not using per pixel. But, I remember having problems with the same buttons on my first skin. This time was a real bear. I finally changed the entire look. All the images are to exact specs. In skin studio, they don't show up at all, but when I apply the theme, they display and work with no problems. After enabling/disabling transparency, using transparency/translucency check boxes and every imaginable combination, I couldn't get it to show in skin studio and act

Make sure the setting under the actual file is set to transparency enabled. If it isn't an option right click and "add" it. Then you can play with the transparent and translucent check boxes see what works.
Yes, the quick launch arrow. I have seen where it is different colors in some skins, but always appears to be the same image. So, I probably can't change the bmp. Would anyone know what color setting it may be associated with?
I have tried more than I can count. But, I always go back to K-Tek Steel by Tiggz https://www.wincustomize.com/Preview.aspx?Source=Tiggz/wb/K-TEKsteelwbpreview.jpg It's on my pc 99% of the time.
I tried to research this on my own a little, before I posted. So I have been looking at the code in different uifiles. I know that loginstudio messes up the code, so I have been sure not to open it with that program. I am familiar with html, and have been able to find everything else I need for color, size, etc. I see the shutdown button in two locations. Where it's inserted with different states, and down at the bottom. I am trying to do a "Splash" type logon. I will email you when I
I have been having a very difficult time relocating the shutdown button. I have looked at the code of other peoples logins. I can see how the extra section is added, and image size is determined, etc. For the life of me, I can't see where the actual input is to offset and move it. I would never change someone else's work and try to pawn it off as my own. That's why I want to learn how to do it myself. Is there anyone out there that could post where the code is located?
I have a follow up question for that actually. Where can you skin that arrow in skin studio. I looked and looked, and have been unable to find it.
That's what I thought right before I found Movie Gear. I actually went back and verified I was creating them in 8bit gif frames. I was going to completely remake all of the gifs. Thankfully, I didn't have to do that Thanks alot for all your help though Bichur. This is my first skin and at different stages I have become completely stumped. Thankfully, there is a good community here for assistance <img src="http
Thanks Bichur I found the same thing I think http://adam.joeuser.com/articles.asp?aid=36199 Don't use avi quick though. Mine at least wouldn't let me adjust compression at all. I used the one Mike recommended (Gif Movie Gear) located at http://www.moviegear.com It has a free trial \o/ It was so easy it made me want to cry for all the lost time trying to reduce the file size before. It turned that 800-900k f
I guess the question is, how does anyone else get usable animations without excessive file size? I see some of the progress animations available on this website where the entire package is very small. Looking at the screenshots, it looks like alot of frames included. I can't get a 19 frame animation out in under 800kb that looks decent. I tried compression, but the only one that will play in skin studio without an error greatly reduces the quality.
I'm having the same exact problem that jazzymjr is having. If I enable any compression the file isn't playable. I can optimize it and get a good file size. When I save it as an .avi file, it overwrites the changes, and goes right back up to the original size. Avi quick doesn't seem to have as many options as animation studio, and does less Does anyone know a way to keep the optimized version? Thanks <img src="htt
I am almost done with my first attempt at a skin. But, I have a few things that I can't seem to get right. One is the default xp black text. For example its located on the left side of skin studio in the tree. I can change some of them, just not all. (possibly disabled, or inactive text?) The other text color is on the desktop icons. I can change the background shadow for the icon, just not the white text itself. The final thing (*crosses his fingers) is the color behind the scroll bar on window
I just had to bump this I got hung up on this for quite some time. I also noticed alot of new posts for this issue.
I had a problem with this that was driving me nuts. Ofc I just had to look far enough. Can a mod please delete this? I bumped the fix in the proper section.
