I am from the south. I grew up in rural Alabama in the late 70's. I have seen a burning cross first hand. I lived in Tennessee for a while. I have seen the KKK march in Pulaski, TN. I have seen many examples of racism up close and personal. These are terrible symbols of hatred. I saw the cross burn in the yard of my 4th grade teacher because she offered aid to a young black girl and it offended the hateful members of the KKK. I am from the so

I was just like you. I am a Network Adminstrator and an all around PC tech. Everyone I know always asks me for help. Can you come over and look at this? Can you get this for me? Well I have a lot of resources at my disposal and I have always been one to lend a hand so NO was just not part of my vocabulary. I would always do the work for free assuming that if I needed a favor from these people they would be there for me. Well I am pretty self

Until then I hope you find moments to pursue and enjoy your pleasures! I used to enjoy playing on my PC at the house. Now that I am a Network Admin I have lost the pleasure in that. However, I coach my nephew's little league team and that gives me an outlet to have some fun.

Take some pills will ya don't be such a stubborn male! Well let's see. I've had my vidicon and muscle relaxer for my ankle this morning. When the shoulder started to hurt I ate a couple of Advil. I don't think I should take anything else. So could you please just stop hurting me. <img src="../

Was she married to Lyle Lovette? I thought that was Julia Roberts! I guess I missed that news. You're right .. Well either one it would probably end before I like anyway. Still sticking with pinchy.

Hmmm... Let's see The circus peanut sounds tempting because I really like circus peanuts. Bea Arthur ... one word NO! Now Cindy Crawford, I might have a chance there. After all, she did marry Lyle Lovett, but wait, that didn't last. OK make it the lobster because a good meal will never be a sour memory because it broke up with you and is less expensive to maintain than a Porche. To quote the great one... Homer: (crying) Oh my

Odd thing about your version, though...no okra? I don't put okra in Chicken and Sausage Gumbo. I don't like the mix of roux and okra. However, with Seafood Gumbo I make my roux out of okra. You have to brown the okra until all of the slime is gone. It adds an interesting flavor.

My wife has been in school for what seems like forever now. She is in a five year Architecture program (the state requires a five year program to get your license). I guess that means by current standards it should take her nine years to complete. It takes that long, not because she fails classes, but because they never seem to offer the classes she needs to move to t

You need to be spoonfed the reasons why it's wrong to shit on someone's holy book? No one shit on anyone's holy book. Even if they did, why would that cause a nation to riot and kill it's own people. It seems to me that they like death as a means of change. It is ignorance that allows them to believe th

So it's John and Mason who respond negatively to articles they haven't even taken the time to read OR understand. I did read the suspect article and found it poorly written. They seem to discuss the same point over and over while I just continue to scroll down the page. If you actually take time to und

First ... If the recruiters want the info they will get it somewhere else. If they want you they find you. Second ... If you take the ASVAB you are screwed. I took it and did quite well. (Well that isn't saying much because if the room full of morons that I was with were all that were taking it I should have been higher than top 5%) I had recruiter showing up on my door step. I even considered the Navy. Had the recruiter in my living room. Lik

I don't claim to have seen every appearance of Bush or heard everything he has said, and I don't remember ever hearing that we were going over there in the Lord's name. However, I have heard him say many times that we were going over there to fight for the freedom from oppressive government for the people of Iraq. I am sure that you heard that the top man going into Fallujah said the enemy's name was Satan from an incredibly reliable source. That is his job! He has to motivate his men

I don't trust this site any more than any other fanatical site. It has about as much credibility to me as Dan Rather and the CBS news. One thing I did find interesting... I don't understand how they can pray to a God to bring death to someone else. I guess that just goes against everything I have ever understood about religion. I try to be open minded but I just can't link the two. I just don't think God is there to guide my bullets.

I work for a small company. We have about 100 employees. At one point we had a staff of 13. We are and Oil and Gas Exploration and Production company. A few years ago I would have never guessed to move from desktop support to Sys admin. I have locked myself in as furniture around here. (We have a good # of 10+ year employees) We are now a staff of 4 due to changes in the business and our custom accounting system being all but done after 14 years.

No offense meant to LW but that's not how Gumbo is done, at least in Louisiana. Close but not quite. Sonnier's Chicken and Sausage Gumbo 1 Whole Chicken cut up and skin removed (I always use a fryer instead of buying cut up chicken - when boiling the chicken it makes a better stock) Package Andouille Sausage Link (any sausage will do Andouille is spicier than mos

I've heard of these machines ... but never actually seen one. I am a person who could be considered technologically "in the know". I would have been right there with you ogling this fancy contraption. *wipes drool* sorry my geekyness is coming out!

I bought my TV just under four years ago. I bought the service agreement because the guy just wouldn't shut up. I was going to go back and get a refund and didn't. My TV is shutting off for no reason now. I have just a month to spare on the warranty I didn't want. Yippie. Murphy is gonna make me pay for that one. I just know it.

First of all ... She is probably going to sue and claim damages that could never be proven. Like, every time I close my eyes I see the brutal cop and his taser of death. I haven't been able to sleep in months and now my baby is an insomniac and has a funny twitch in his big toe. The twitch is causing developmental problem and the other babies at the nursery make fun of him. He is scarred for life. Now that I have ranted ... I think that if the
