Yeah, I got ur PM and replied.... I had already taken this into consideration. Couple of problems with that... 1, The texture I made for this wasn't anywhere near that size, 0nly about 600x750 and took forever to make. and 2. That will just cause reverse problems on small dialogs, when windows are resized small or small by default.. like RUN, Display properties, MSN etc.. XP is already 40% done, just going with a metallic look now... full steam ahead. [e clas

Its not a matter of 'pulling it off'.. its whether I want to put forth a tiled texture. If you think that looks good, by all means, feel free to do so. I've decided not to, it looks better to me, plain, than having repeating textures, which I think looks bloody awful and unprofessional. I will never upload anything that, to me..is..anything less than optimal. I'm just funny like that [e classic]:P[/e]

well, it would still tile... same end result, plus, that isnt going to work for the toolbar either. Im pretty much resolved to just removing teh textures and getting on with this WB. It was actually how I first envisioned the theme anyway. lets face it.. WB is just not really designed to display re-sizable, random textures.

I dunno y'all, layers works fine for a nice tileable pattern, for instance hexagons or pinstripes, but for something like this, a weatherized, aged texture, there really is no suitable way to do it within WB. I'm thinking about just removing all textures and going with just a metallic surface, or maybe even some kind of carbon fiber.

Yeah, i meant layers of course... has anyone successfully used them in frames and toolbar for a texture? Example skin? My problem is, the blending option choices will not overlay the texture in the same manner as it looks in Photoshop, after being flattened and dodge brushed. There is no 'Vivid light' blend mode, that would achieve the same look. Anyway, thanks for chiming in Tim, your couple of words there just set off a light bul

Well, after messing with these textures in the frames from a couple of days now, I think Im just going to scrap it, and perhaps the texture on the start menu as well.. I thought I could use glyphs in the frames and toolbars to tile the textures while stretching the frame and toolbar.. Anyway, either I have forgotten how, I never knew how, or it just doesn't work, as i can't get it working. there is no other way to tile a texture and have the gradient stret

It is a bit lighter, mostly to do with more of the lighter surface area showing, and me wanting to have a little variation in the elements.. and not being finished.... The main thing however, is having been in space for 4 trillion light years, the degradation of the outer hull has not been uniform, well, according to Engineer Snartypnats down in the engine core section... Me? I have No idea... I just pilot the darn thing.. [e digicons]:w00t:[/e] One good thing though...about
