I have been here going on 3 years, have subscriptions to both Object Desktop and WinCustomize, and enjoy both greatly. I don't skin, probably could, but nothing would equal the quality that shows up in the galleries. I look at Master Skins as a "No Brainer". I'm just curious to know what other things you may have in mind for WC. One thing to keep in mind, moving targets are hard to hit, so don't stop to turn around to see if we are following you. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smi

Well, yes I agree that this is good news. I also realize that it makes good business sense. I wonder if in the morning meeting at Microsoft the word "Oops" was heard when looking at the reaction to Vista from the average person on the street. Duh!!!

It's really amazing that if we (subscribers and other visitors to this site} leave you folks alone for a little bite and not bother you with our dumb questions you come out with some pretty nice breadcrumbs. Change always makes us step back a couple of steps and say "why", "what happened", "I just figured out the site" and of course "Nice". Now I'm off to check out things. Everyone get close together and give each other a big hug, you done good!

Well, the memory arrived. Opened up the computer and did alittle early spring cleaning, boy were there alot of dust bunnies. Used compressed air to get the bunnies moved out and some Q-tips to clean the fans. Installing the memory would have been alot easier if my fingers weren't always blocking my view. Put the computer back together and started it up with no problems. I finally remembered where to find the computer information, under Help and Support. System recognized the new me

PurrBall Personally, I didn't want to have to change any settings so I like your response. I should get the memory today. I ordered it online and got what I felt was a good price, 2GB of memory for under $200(US). I'll post back with requests for help if needed. Thank you. Yrag I appreciate your response also, but it seems everytime I change settings in the computer my fat fingers get me into trouble! Thanks

I getting ready to upgrade my ram from the 512 of PC333 32MXB RD that came with my Gateway box to 2GB of Corsair PC3200 DDR 400MHz memory. Question, are there any settings in either BIOS or Windows that I should be making? I run Windows XP Home with all the current updates. The computer is three years old has a P4 2.6GHZ processor with HTT and 800MHz FSB. I was trying to find what version BIOS I have, but forget where that info is. Thanks in advance for any responses.

You hit the nail square on the head! It's human nature to expect the fix or solution for our problem that we face has to equal or exceed the problem. I wonder how many people have gone through what you did to only find the answer was so simple. Thanks for sharing.

And here I thought I wasn't going to get any gifts this year! Thank you all at Stardock for the past year. My wish is that this coming year brings all the joy and happiness that is deserving to all of you and your families. A few things this way wouldn't hurt either. Happy Holidays <img src="http://images.stardock.

It took me a while to realize that not everyone that was on the forums was a skinner. I knew my place in the computer world was that of a 'User' and sometimes user's are not even allowed to be seen let alone heard. I've left more comments in the last week then I have in the two plus years that I've been a subscriber. Why am I here, you can't help but learn from going through the forums. Every morning after checking for those important computer updates the next place I sign on to is here to l

I have the same concern as Po'Smedley. I may be a little slow on the uptake, but alot of what is being printed out there about Vista and it capabilities and who might take advantage of them or even find the useful tends to make me want to stick with XP awhile. Yes I know change is always going to happen but it would be nice to still come here and feel like the money I spent for a subscription was justified. (Boy that's harsh, maybe I need a walk in the cool afternoon air!) Well the

I agree with MasonM on AVG and Zone Alarm. I've been using them for three or four years now with no problems. Both programs have advanced versions that you can pay for but just about everything you read indicates the free versions get the job done. Security suites do look like they should do a better job but again I've seen some comparisons that show the stand alone programs usually do a better job. Alot has to do what you feel comfortable with. You didn't ask about spyware programs but they

The way I see it, if we are going to identify a problem and CRY, then we should also CHEER when the fix arrives! I knew it wouldn't take you folks long to find and fix the problem. That's why you are the Developers and Programers and people like myself on this side of the screen are Computer USERS. Take the rest of the day off, you deserve it.

Here I thought I was going to be the only one with this problem! I'm getting the same error as #3 ,Dan B In PA. When checking the link by Developer vrag you find that the file you need to delete the contents of is Hidden! Whoa, got to be a better fix then this, or maybe not? I know this is early in the download of the update, and there are bound to be problems. You know what they say, if somenting can go wrong, it will! I think I'll wait awhile t
