Still learning - how do I protect my shipping lanes? in Galactic Civilizations II GalCiv2 Forums

Hi all - brand new to the game but am enjoying it. So, everything was going fine and then there was a pirate event. Pirates began attacking my freighters. I wanted to find some way for my military ships to escort them but can't seem to figure it out. Any tips? Thanks!
