All, I apologize if this is the wrong forum. I have d/l'd a few mods (mostly Requiem) and they are fantastic. What I have not been able to find is any kind of "hall of fame / high score" list. I solo against AI and would like to keep track of how I did ala Civ without using an offline notepad/excel Does this exist? Thanks.
DG without a serial is a demo
If the lack of a SN keeps you from getting patches, perhaps. Otherwise its just a free game for folks like me who don't play online mp.

It was pretty clear from all the online info that this was a skirmish/mp focused game. Just a guess, but a single player campaign probably bumps the production cost of a game by 25%, not to mention the delays in time - etc. I have played SINS like crazy since it came out and have not played a single online match. I love skirmishing the AI or teaming up with my kids over the LAN. I have never missed the SP campaign, I knew one wasn't there. You just have to know what you are bu

Brad, Thanks for a great game. We are having a blast with it here over LAN. Based on experience with GC2 and SINS, I know this is just the beginning and that's the most exciting part. I'm in this for the long haul.

I had been playing DG all day yesterday over the LAN with my son, with Sedna as a healer. We were teamed up against the AI. For our last game we decided to go head to head, and I rebuilt Sedna for DPS. Seeing her take out Rook was my wow moment - that a RTS 'unit' can be respec'ed ala WOW is pretty cool.

All, I know this is an unusual post - and it's not meant to be a flame. Much the reverse, I want to like this game so much - but it feels like I am missing something. For context, I am a strategy gamer going all the way back to games like Civ 1, MOO, X-Com and others. I love a good epic scale game, and it would seem that Gal Civ has everything I want: exploration, research, nice balance of combat and diplomacy - and the ship design is like a gallon of icing on the cake! <

My son (15) and I are trying to play over the lan, but it seems to force us into a 'local' lobby on each of our machines, using each of our machine's IPs - neither of us can see the other one's game. I'm guessing this is because although both of us have stardock accounts, only one of us has the game registered. Do I need to buy a second copy for in-house multiplayer?

I'd like to see something along the lines of a high score/hall of fame. I know there's no scoring proper in the game at present, but something so I can see what maps I've beaten and give me a benchmark to try them again. Oh - and zoomed in fleet chatter. :)

All, I'm curious for folks opinions on how difficult the game is on the Easy setting. I'm hoping the AI is somewhere between pushover/slight challenge at this state so I can focus on learning the mechanics without that much pressure. Opinions? Thanks!

I'll have to see if I crash more windowed. Already has 2 crashes on my Vista box. This is the first RTS I've seen where the 'save early, save often' rule applies, but I still love it. They will get those crashes fixed in time. GalCiv proved to me these people really care.

I have installed and reinstalled the program, but I do not seem to have a user.setting file. I have done two windows searches of my drive looking for it. The game has never launched successfully - is the file created on launch?

After launching, the game sits at a black screen for about 30 seconds, then returns to windows minimized. I cannot launch the minimized window, but I will get audio stuttering. Windows XP SP2 2 GB RAM NVIDIA GFORCE 7950 GT (latest drivers) Latest Windows Updates and Direct X I have patched the game, uninstalled and reinstalled with no change. (Fortunately it runs fine on my Vista system. Go figure.) I hope others are seeing this, and even better, I

I think I am having the same issue, or a similar one. After launching, the game sits at a black screen for about 30 seconds, then returns to windows minimized. All, I have been waiting for this game for a while. I plan to pick it up today and am very excited. My sons and I like to play strategy games over the lan. My question is if you need to buy multiple copies or can you use the CD to launch it, then pass the CD to the next person. Thanks and I'll give my impressions once I try it!
