okay, im the most powerful race around and the altarians and torains are allied with the drath, all of whom hate me, cuz, well im evil, very much so. this represents a bit of a pickle because, while i could handle all of them, it would be annoying as i receive A LOT of revenue from trade with the altarians (in case it wasn't apparent, if one declares war on me, they all do). so, being uber risch, what do i do? i buy them off, give em each 1k and they g

what happened to the mineable planet quality resource? i rememeber reading about it in a GC1 manual or sumthin. personally, i never saw one in the game, but it must've been there. =/ my question is will that resource be in GC2? while we're on bonuses, what about an economic bonus on planets in addition to morale, industry, food, etc.?

well as for me, staganation meant me and another race esentially wiping out the other races and we just build up our militaries as high as our economies wil bear and we just sit there and no one wants to attack. Also, in my experience, the I-leaque never is large enuff to compete with the established majors=/

ok, i kinda mentioned awhile ago, but here it is, and a little broader. can we get additional modules for ships (as new techs are researched, obviously). the most obvious being modules that have the same effect as the vamp/wraith/paladin/sovvy ships did in GC1. i guess those would be after you research ethics. however, i think that only hitpoint sucker and healer modules should be ethic specific, while defense booster and offense booster should be usab

Why can't i deliver ultimatums eh? at least in GC1(and i assume in GC2) if i was making a obvious cultural subversion attempt (eg a starbase) they would flat out say that i would either give therm the starbase or they would declare war on me. my thing is this, i have about 3/4 of the galctic power bar (i assume thats what the thing to the left of the graph is) i have an atronomically high military, yet when i send a tiny demand to a race, they give me

okay, so u get interstellar republic all the way to star federation. and u get more money. but there is a problem. whenever i get to star federation i max out my spending to 100% but i still have money im not spending. ok well who doesn't llike extra money? well true but i wish i could funnel that into projects and research, etc. Galciv 1 did this where it apparently reduced your cash, but what it actually did was give you more and it increased your ro

heh, im still playing on 'normal' setting rite now. minors buy like, 3 colony ships and all they do is sail around and stuff, other than I Leaque or Delean leaque, the ,most planets a minor has in a normal game so far is 3 but ya, wrks for me cuz i conquer their asses and suddenly have 4 or 5 civilization capitals!

i agree as well that their should be minimum time for peace. If any of you played Birth of the Federation, there were actually four treaty durations, 25, 50, 100, and indefinite. although rather than having a set number, y don't we have a slider for the amount of turns it will last?

9 Replies 10,605 Views

is that when a race came to you with a peace treaty offer, you could see everything that u had and that they had, effectively, if u were beating the crap out of them, but didn't just want to settle for peace, u could demand some techs, planets, money, etc from them as part of the treaty, can't do that with 4D nor GC1 i think u should bring back that "bug" because it a

ok, after playing beta 4d here are some more minor things i have noticed, if some things i mention already exist or have been soled and i just didn't care to look that hard, please tell me. Planetary Stuff I find that my governor does not start upgrading as soon as i acquire a previously owned system, whether cultarally, militarily, or through surrender. =/ where'd the ship

okay saw a thread asking if there was going to be a program for editing galciv. well u don't really need one. most of the pertinent files like party files, imps, race files, anomoly files, etc can be edited with notepad. on top of that, the files are pretty self explanatory. if u need help or (most likely) noe more about this than i do, leave a reply.

hi, i'm not sure i'm posting this in the right area but whatever. while playing the demo, i noticed a few things that were not really bugs, just annoying things that slowed down gameplay. 1) A "next" button when cruising through planets that have finished projects like in gc1, maybe make it a toggle - able feature for those who like the little pop ups on the right side (nice idea btw) which leads me into the next topic.................

The only point I was trying to make was that different races probably have very different lifespans. The numbers don't really seem appropriate, since we have no way of knowing how old "80" is for a non-human race. true, but age is age, the fact that a Torian might have 60 more years to look forward to vs a humans 10 (est) doesn't change

8 Replies 10,777 Views

some other samll bugs include 1) When i am playing another race, the ai always addresses my race as 'humans' eg "so, the rash humans have come to negotiate peace" or sumthin to that effect. 2) sometimes my ships will leave a copy of itself behind in a sector square that can't be selected, afterimage i guess, even after i cycle windows and take numerous turns. 3) the influence pie chart in the UP doesn't reflect the game

well, i personally experience none of those. my loading problem is that the game will crash when i try to load a game =/ well thats y they be called beta's

when i start a game, i obviously have to start colonies. my problem is the astronomical maintenance costs of a new colony. how do i overcome this without having to jack up taxes to compensate and drop my spending to nil? thanx PS ya i noes colonize better worlds, but im not lucky enuff to find 15< scattered everywhere =/

i created a new political party using Hawaii's editing thingamabob and my part does not show up on the election results. i see all of the other parties and how many votes they get but i dont see how many i get >:( wat am i doing wrong?

ok, usually(ie all the time) i play as an evil(just look at my morality face) empire. When i first started playing, it seemed like common sense, i mean, when ur first starting out in the galaxy, 20% + planet quality, or 15% production bonuses seem REALLY attractive. but since it seems like i'm surrounded by do gooders(j/k, u evil acedemy rejects are all right) it must give u a pretty decnet adavantage later on in the ballgame to be a saintly empire. so, that is my question, what is better, evil

ok, i recently registered my alias and all that jazz and have submitted two games. for both i had set the game on 'tough'. but the first one i submitted was reported as an 'anamolous' setting, and the second 'masochistic'! i've added a bunch of mods from the website, as well as adding a few techs and trade goods of my own. However, i did notice something odd about my game. towards the end, the other races (after doing some espionage on their stats) i found had weapons and defense bonuses of 300

ok towards the end of a game, it seems that the other civs(that have lasted that long ;) have huge bonuses in defense, offense, influence, and im assuming economic and other stuff i cant otwardly detect. Is this all from imps they built like shipyards and cultural reinfrocement centers?

my faq, dunno if its been asked bfore, but here goes. What is the differnece between economic bonus(through mining, tech, anomaly, etc) and an interest rate bonus(usually through that corrupt dealie event) as they both have the same effect of raising income taxes. Also, how does creativity, luck and courage figure into gameplay? [Message Edited] [Message Edited]
