Could do that indeed but: As far as to be able to be compatible with new versions, I'll just stick to my W7 for now. 1) is it free this Fences V3 ? 2) Do I have to remove my actual version ? 3) Might I not loose all my settings ? This setting where the program refers to to hide are not hide an icon from quick-hide, why is it such a secret to tell where this is done ? Registry or file or both ? Thank you

I have Fences Pro 1.1.0.419. Since quite some time I can't add or remove additional items (icons) from the quick hide desktop option. In the right click menu from my desktop the line "exclude this item from .... or "include this item from ..." is still present (with or without) a checkmark, but I can't add or remove an item when I L-click on the line in the menu. Afraid of loosing settings I prefer not to reinstall the program. I tried to (over) install the program but the probl
I have windows 8 and will never upgrade to 10. The recent update to fences 3.5.111 is not fully compatible with Windows 8. I get artifacts, screen flickers, transparency is screwy and bleeding . I went back to 3.1 and everything is fine again. Only thing is it keeps prompting me to update to the new version. How do I disable this?
I'm starting to doubt if it will work with W7, since I'm considering an upgrade. Is 3.1 still
Possibly at a discount, since you did purchase Version 1.
I guess I'll have to upgrade to v3. Will inform about a discount though. And there's always the question of the necessity to uninstall the previous version b4.

Should maybe check it again, but I guess I bought it some 2-3 years ago. I recall long ago I got invitations for a Fences 2 version, but it didn't seem to have more options that I could put to use. And aside from that there was also a new price tag that came along with that Fences 2 version. Can you resume in short what this v3.053 can do that my v1.1 Pro can't ? Thanks.

Seriously ? When I click somewhere in the program to check if I have the latest version it still says I have. Should I just install some new free version and again upgrade to the Pro version of 3.0.5.3 ? And of course pay again for that new Pro version ? I think I'd better file a support ticket and see if they can fix it unless someone here can help me in a different way.

I have a bug in my Fences Pro application. The option "exclude this pictogram (icon) from quick-hide" isn't working anymore. I have about 11 icons that remain visible at quick-hide, but can't add any more. If I delete one I can't add a new one either, and I remain with 10 instead of 11. So it has nothing tot do with too much icons that remain visible after quick-hide. Please help.

Would surprise me. If Ashampoo says they're full trials, they usually are. Did you follow the instructions carefully ? You should get a full version anyway. I've been using Ashampoo products for some 10 years now. I get almost daily E-mails, but I rarely fall for their requests to buy this or that. Sometimes you can even decide yourself what you want to pay for a product. Quality-wise the products are usually average except for their uninstaller. Usually if they offer you a fr

Of course I cut back on the number of bootskins. I also use no randomisation anymore. Thanks anyway for trying that out for me Cavan. Could be that my CPU is not high enough (1Ghz and 512Mb SDRam). I can guarantee you that I had 15 BSOD's and tried everything mentioned in my threadstarting post; and I nearly thought about reinstalling XP. I than just did one more thing: disactivating in safe mode the bootskinning option in the application. Immediat

You could just trie it, and you'll see. I think (as far as I presume since I'm not an expert) that while loading a "random" bootskin and in case there are too much to choose from Windows locks with the resulting BSOD. I think but I'm not sure I had it also once in the time I used the random option in the Logonscreen. app. As for the different version > read that too, but it doesn't apply to me. I used some 15 bootskins in the Random function for

For all those that have quite some Bootskins and use the Random Option in this application there is a very big chance that this can cause a BSOD at startup. I've had the problem after installing some 10 or more additional bootskins, on top of some 15 that I already had. It is only by chance that I came across this issue since I do no often reboot, but mostly use the sleep function. Luckily I remembered that Bootskin could be the problem;

Just checked it once more to be o/t safe side. All the other and the internal calendar on my PC say that it's Sat 27th Nov. but the Core Calendar keeps saying november 27 2004 "THURSDAY".

I agree that there's not much that can be done about it and true we all should be gratefull. In fact any feedback or support has nothing to do with it being freeware or shareware often even with shareware there's also no feedback or support. But even so a bad working product is worse than none at all. Remains the question why developping so much ? Take a look at the Widget "Core Calendar" several people complaining (and I) that it isn't working at all > it gives the wrong day of the week (the ot

I get as much as no response at all from the authors from the objects/widgets in their individual "comments" section. Even if these objects/widgets don't work at all and I don't seem to be the only one left on his own. I suggest the autors should spend more time on feedback instead of creating way too much objects/widgets.....So the time spent on creating new stuff should better be spent on feedback.
