Reply to Start Menu in ObjectDock Stardock Forums

I occasionally get the issue where the Startmenu dock starts in the wrong location then errors after that requiring OD restart. By far the biggest issue is the delay before the Startmenu opens. 5 seconds is like an eternity when waiting for the Startmenu. Occsionally it will immediately pop up but very rarely. ObjectDock Start Menu very slow in Stardock Support General Stardock Forums

I use the free version of Object Dock with the Start Menu object on it. The problem is that it takes around 5 seconds to open. While not a deal breaker it is quite annoying. Ive set all of the settings for max performance but it makes no difference with the start menu opening. Any suggestions? Thanks Mitch

Some very good points. Just to be clear Im quite happy with OD. The strides that have been made since 3x are pretty amazing in both stability and performance. Please bear in mind this isnt "bitching" it's a conversation that can hopefully benefit all involved in the long run, or not :) The basis of the conversation leads one to sound "whiney". One key point is this isnt "required" software and as such I really dont need to go elsewhere. I've looked at plain Windows

Actually I was thinking this site was related to Stardock. My apologies. Yes there are some nice skins but unfortunately it seems that each has a weakness (my opinion anyway) that makes me go elsewhere in what seems a never-ending journey. After trying most of the free skins I can only guess that the Master Skins are of better quality with fewer issues. Yes I could learn skinning but the idea for me was get something I like included with WB not spend my valuable time lear

I wish I had learned of this schism before I plunked down another $34 for the upgrade. Nothing pisses me off more than (after) paying for the software I find the decent skins cost even more money. This isnt going to work longterm and gets worse because EVERYONE wants a buck in this web 2.0 world.
