The main thing to do is go to the Stategy First Web Site rather than a games modding forum board. These boards are run by Stardock (who is the developer of GalCiv). Strategy First is a publisher (it does not make games just publishes them). Here is the link for Strategy First Corporate page which has a link to jobs. http://www.strategyfirst.com/en/corporate/ ~SDC~

If you let me know the outline of the changes that where made I might be able to incorporate it into the program that generates the pages for the site or maybe provide a set of xml files that you can convert into pda format. Let me know.
You can try my site. Has all the tech tree, starbase modules, improvements etc http://webpages.charter.net/trevorpowdrell/
BonusType - One of the following values 1 gain to your advantage factor 3 loss to your enemies advantage factor 5 unhappy citizens will join your ranks There are a few threads that I have posted on some of the files from creating my website eg. .tech, .sbmodule etc
Brad did have a viewable format that was never released. (I was lucky enough to get a glimpse of it during beta). He also said that my site was useful during beta :D http://webpages.charter.net/trevorpowdrell/
I am here. Just very busy at work. Go ahead with the pda version.
33/33/34 is very inefficient. You will find that you will run out of social projects to build and you will be behind in the military and research fields. Also you will have a massive maintence cost for all the social projects you have built. Social spending between 10-20%will be more than enough to keep you civ's happy if you are selective in your builds.
Yes 10 trade routes is the max in the game no matter what tech you have. ~SDC~
Want not to do is 1. Start out with this game sucks if you do not implement this feature. 2. Say that the way it currently works is lame or any other neagtive term. 3. State that this must be implemented because MOO2/SEIV4 or some other 4X game had it. What to do. 1. Start out describing the problem and how it impacts play/balance. 2. Suggest a solution that you have thought out and suggest how will improve game play/balance. 3. Make sure you have thought it thro
If you need to shut down the application just press Alt&F4 ~SDC~
Complete list of techs, improvemnents, ship and starbase modules http://webpages.charter.net/trevorpowdrell
Also words like stupid do nothing to forward your case. Just calling something stupid because you do not like the way it works is not a good idea. Present your case in detail explain why you think it would make the game more enjoyable but try the leave out the negative phrases are you might stand a better chance of getting changes.
One the reason combat works this way is to try to get rid of the one super fleet going round destroying everything and never being killed.
Try changing you starting conditions. The Tight Clusters tend to generate this. Try Scattered is make game play very different. ~SDC~
Sorry its windows program. I think someone got it working on WINE. Maybe they could re-post what they did. ~SDC~
You want to see what it does. Look in the debug.err. It looks like the things the AI is doing has been put back. They do a lot of trading. They threaten others for money etc. I still find it strange that ever time the AI does something that the player does not know how to do the AI is accused of cheating. If you find a bug label it as a bug. If you don't know how the AI does something label. How does the AI do .... I am getting tired of this continual wining about how the AI
Sorry Ichimaru the company does not see it as different. I cannot make money from being affilated with a web site :D But I got an email today from some Nigerian you might be able to make some money there. I will forward it to you :D Truefully I am just happy that people are finding my site useful, the job I do pays well and I would much prefer to make my site without banner ads etc. ~SDC~
Tech tree updated. Split out the Ability bonus which is civ wide from the other planet wide bonuses on the improvements (Trade Goods and Wonders). ~SDC~
Freighter's are excellent spies. They have long range and if a trade route is lost due to war you can replace the trade route very quicly. I don't think this is a bug but a strategy. Leaving a constructor next to a resource is a similar deal. If the starbase gets destroyed you can get the resource.
JUst to be clear it don't think they will have an editor for the .mdl files but there will be a way to create .mdl files with your own images
Biggy Boy you are right in the it is not immediately obvious which bonuses apply civ wide. I will see what I can do to make the civ wide bonuses stand out. It usually does state it in the description. ~SDC~
Scott_Jensen Take a look at the quick reference. It lists the starbase modules and the tech required to build them. (Some module also require a previous module to be build the quick reference lists those also)
Unfortunately the company that I work for has strict policies on running web sites for profit. This applies even more as I work doing Web Development for the company.
You have exclusive rights to Trade Goods that you build you can sell them to everyone/anyone. ~SDC~
Thanks for the clarifications Arturus Magi. I missed the Influence_Resistance when I was typing it in :D ~SDC~
