I don't understand how this is a big deal? This is a mostly single player game. The AI does not use teleport, only the player does so just don't use it. You are ranting and raving about a ridiculous point. I am sorry but people complaining about this are just drama queens. If you think it is overpowered then just don't use it or set limitations on it for yourself and this does not require modding or anything else, just a little self

@Frogboy Enlightening as always. I like your lengthy posts (though you should sticky it since you have explained why WoM failed like three times now) @Winnihym (the poh) http://realmsbeyond.net/forums/showthread.php?t=4208 <--- For all your Master of
This is what happens when you start typing and then change the main point and the ending halfway through....I erased the beginning and endtext and then forgot to add back which game I was talking about. LOL is the answer to if War of Magic was released in a finished state. It classify as a fail.... The other, well it's the only one I don't know about. Have read some concerning reports on the forums but not so much so I can't be certain. If trustworth
At least there is one company that understands such ideals , unfortunately they were the very same people who came up with the ideals. On the other hand, EA has already killed two great studios in Westwood Studios and Pandemic Studios, because EA bought them out and dismantled them.
When I started typing this, I thought I was gonna win easily and that Stardock violated like five points. I knew that
Winnihym (man, your name always makes me think of Winnie the poh ) I had completely forgot about PAX (I mean, who knows about it..? It's E3 and that German gameconference and that's it. PAX makes me think of some "indies exhibition") but we'll see what we'll get there.... You're right about the developer journal on magic. I
As long as the conglomerates like EA continue to ignore the Gamer's Bill of Rights, by dismantle the good studios and assimilating them, and not caring about us gamers, then the Gamer's Bill of Rights won't do a whole lot.
Ofcourse. The Gamers Bill of Rights today got the same authority as if the native americans published a new constitution which they would say is for the whole of America. It
Derek -It looks like you've done a great job remaking EWOM into an interesting place. However, please see the one constant in all the reponses to your FE-Magic post. Magic can't be one of three focuses for FE to succeed. It needs to be the #1 focus. IMHO this is the main problem with EWOM. We wanted wizards battling with Magic (War of Magic). It's why we all played (still play) MOM! Whe
I play on a laptop, and as a college student I don't have the money for a high end desktop because I am paying for an education so I can eventually get one, I play strategy games because they're usually not memory hogs. I mean I am only working with 1 gig of ram (Yeah, I know.. WTF?) and an integrated video card, so when does it become a trade off between high-end eye candy and play-ability on lower end systems? On WoM I get these weir
If there is some kind of "Spellskill" like in Master of Magic or Age of Wonders II and it costs lots of mana then it might work. But why take such a chance..? Just cut it!
Speaking of memory and since RAM can't help videomemory and viceversa, then there's no stopping adding in beatiful extras for those of us with highend cards. Makes me remember Brad saying that there would be ShaderModel 4.0 stuff in War of Magic.... To make up for that I request some ShaderModel 5.0 things [e digicons]B)[/e] And while they're at it, Direc
....Here I suggest a community gamingthread and what's the result from it..? Dominions III and NOTHING ELSE! [e digicons]>:([/e] I thought it would result in everybody posting their STEAM IDs so everybody would have like 20 guys to play with but ofcourse not! Instead I get one guy who I've never played anything with and who suggests me a friggin mod ....[e digicons]X|[/e] ....Talk
Don't like it at all! Monopolies are dangerous and must be stopped. Having games on five different DD sites though....ugh! [e digicons]>:([/e] If I have to choose, then five different DD sites are better than one getting an evil monopoly like STEAM seem to be doing. The ultimate way would be like Nenjin says but good luck with that
Well, if what Tridus says is correct, then WHERE do all the memory go?? Is graphiccardmemory interchangeable with RAM?
Still reads like fluff to me. Why bother with vague generalities like that? It doesn't say a thing to those of us who were around before the first WoM betas, nor does it seem to offer anything that might get the interest of someone who just now heard of Elemental. I'm not afraid of the sausage factory, but I'm not at all interested in what sausage factory reviewers might think. Basically, I'd rather not see Derek wastin
I lost my mail once when I switched ISP. I had Bredbandsbolaget. Called them and told them I needed my mailaccount. 10min to copy mails and adresses would be enough but nooo....she even explained it such a way like I was a computer newbie!! [e digicons]>:([/e] Hmm I'm completely politically incorrect AND I got Gmail. Time to worry?? [e digicons]:S[/e]
This is gonna be interesting to hear about [e digicons]:)[/e] Myself I start STEAM & FireFox every time I start my computer. STEAM has become like a social network to me. I check the store, news and community tab every day. It's fun to keep track of your (internet)friends achievements [e digicons]:P[/e] Speaking of STEAM, it just started downloading a 983MB update. But I got 15/10 and unlimited bandwidth so who cares <img src="http://web
Ok, I'm disappointed. I've been watching Master of Magic games on youtube and playing some myself and the number of interesting spells in Master of Magic is FAR greater than in this PDF. I'm not entirely certain if Life, Death, Chaos
Funny thing when I make posts sometimes. I know what I want to say, but since I think alot faster than I type, whole sentences are left out. It's fixed now though. However, I can give it one LAST try by getting the Dom III demo and trying that. If I had FRAPS and some such I'd record it and upload to my youtube channel. The language and style would like The AVGN.
The one thing I'd like to point out, is that not one person has chimed in that it's not an awesome game
Alright, I'll bite. Dominions III is not an awesome game. My experience is with the Dominions II demo. I only started the game though and as soon as I saw it was menudriven (it's not like Master of Magic, Age of Wonders or HoMM) which means you can't move units around I go
I just uninstalled both BroodWar and StarCraft II and I haven't even gotten all the campaign achievements(!) I just don't have any desire to play them. Feel like playing alot of other games but not StarCraft. ....Feels like the end of an era to me....StarCraft was once my favorite game. The game that was standard for me to play every day online or offline. If I had told myself this back in 2000 when I was 18 I wonder if I would hav
I believe he meant a printed manual. A PDF manual with updates where everything's explained (like in the Heroes V fanmade manual) would be excellent but wanting a 300page printed manual (like the AoW manual) is not realistic.
Same here. Man, I should do something productive instead of checking five times a day....
Quoting Kamamura_CZ, reply 4I would not get too greedy... Greedy? There is nothing greedy about wanting a physical copy (with a good manual one can hope)
Well, then everybody else except you and Femmefatale think it is.... And manuals for Stardock games are unnecessary since the games mechanics change quite radically.

You guys need really need to work on your interpretation skills and not demand everything to be phrased perfectly. It really is very self-explanatory here.
