Haven't been following E3 for a few years. Just not interesting these days....It's mostly consoles & consolegames and that might be the reason I got little interest in it these days. Some people mention originality just like it was important. I couldn't care less about originality. I just want good games. I've seen the presentation of the Wii-U and I'm supremely impressed! I NEVER thought I'd be that impress
However, if a thread pops up on an upcoming FPS or something I have no interest in, I'm certainly not going to go in there and tell people, "Don't like it. It's boring. I'd rather commit suicide than play it." What the heck is the point in that other than to be a dick?
I didn't mean to come off like that. I just said what I thought about it. You start a thread
I like that he is himself and not some PR-guy throwing around nice terms that doesn't mean a damn thing. When he speaks he says exactly what he thinks and goes into detail of technical stuff. He doesn't seem to care if average Joe doesn't understand (which there is nothing wrong with. The elite prefer to associate with other elite people). I didn't understand everything but you feel more intelligent after having listened to him.</p
Back in Medieval times water was not important and ships that sailed far enough would sail off the edge of the world so they just stopped making them entirely. Rivers were not researched by most kingdoms as they usually spawned in enemy territory anyways. There were rumors of older civilizations being able to transform their military units into boats at the touch of the sea in hopes of adapting to this predicament but public reception was mixed.[
Quoting Campaigner, reply 18 Tridus Brad said that the engine couldn't support the things they wanted to do (but now they've fixed that). Yeah, but if you're building a new engine for your new MoM-like game, wouldn't you build in what you need? Improving it bodes well for FE at least.
Ofcourse, but apparantly they couldn't do it fast enough and Brad thought it was
One of the reasons Europeans left their homelands was because of population pressure.
Swedes left Sweden because of poverty. In 1850 my country was very poor. People starved and thus 1/3rd of my people left for America. One town there was even called Swedetown [e digicons][/e] My country also got lots of room and large parts of it are deserted so we never had a big population eve
Heard this a lot before E:WOM and during early beta. But it ended up so, so far from that. It is a great idea to stick to MoM, but it needs less mentioning and more doing. Hopefully with Derek on board we can see that.
drrob If you had been here from 2008 and onwards then you wouldn't let the hype take you over like that. As Rishkith says, we have read lo
Personally, I can't stand vapid FPS's, dull grinding MMOs and the plethora of crappy games that are all style and no substance. I like history, realism and complex games that actually make you *shock* *gasp* think. Pride of Nations is that type of game. Deep, complex and pretty realistic. That I find fun and interesting. In a day and age where so many games are being streamlined and dumb
Therefore, if Jon is working on a secret project then it's probably something totally different. How about World of Galactic Civilizations MMORPG?
How about Society ?
Since Brad is the best AI guy and he's working on EWOM, who's working on the AI in EFE? Should we be worried? I like the idea of an AI dev diary too because the AI is something that needs to be solid in EFE since it wasn't in EWOM. Actually, I forgot to ask. Do we even have AI in EFE or did Derek pull it out?
He's also the only</strong
Anyway, this game is not for the faint of heart but anyone who loves historical realism and a deep, complex game would be interested. Best of all, it's only $20. It won't appeal to a lot of people I'm sure but it's a game I'm excited about. BTW, I don't work for them and I'm not a beta tester or anything. I just love history and grand strategy. ^^
Boy, were you right on tha

Decent interview but I didn't learn anything interesting. IronKaiser I love story but that one detail is too minor to be interesting. Some of the guys over at RPS have grand entitlement problems. I can assure you that starkers will be the last person in the world who would agree about what you said about software piracy. TWhile it might suit your sense of (and incorrect definition of) "justice", your equating hackers with Robin of Locksley is way off base: They are nothing but criminals

The German chancellor have made one of the dumbest decisions in modern times. Angela Merkel of the German treehuggerparty environmentalists will shut down ALL of Germanys nuclear powerplants to 2020! Another bad thing? She pulled that stunt to be able to stay in power ! One of the worst examples of
For the expanding worlds issue, play on a bigger map! Another solution is to implement Victory Points like in Company of Heroes. I tell ya, Victory Points are one of the best things to happen to the RTS genre ever! Now I'm just waiting for the TBS genre to get them as well.
I must be in a minority cause I don't care much about succession & diplomacy. I want it arcadey like Master of Magic where you can't abuse the A.I like you can in Age of Wonders. Houserules shouldn't be needed for main features. I feel like people get so attached to a cool gamemechanic and when it showed to be basic, unbalanced and not just developed enough people complain. Then the feature gets removed and people complain even more.... I get the
After thinking about it a bit more, I want something that integrates with Steam (hours spent on it and as much other things as possible).
Sounds great! Monsterlairs Have you considered making monsters in both lairs and the world grow every week like in HoMM ? It's exciting to see a stack on Week 1 Day 7 being lots and the next day they're a horde . (Not even mentioning a Swarm turning into Zounds [e digicons]:S[/e] ) What d
