I'll have to try that! Things sometimes seem to drag down in the late game even with rally points and governers.

I have to say that I love the idea of having the attack and defence fall into 3 catagories of weapons tech because I finally have a reason to engage in espionage! In GalCiv I there really wasn't any reason other than to avoid one of the random events. In games where I was behind espionage was too expensive and in games where I was winning there was no need. Ok I've played 2 maso games now and both times the Drengin really dominated the galaxy. This last time the rest of us had to gang up and squash them for a victory (they would not ally). Do the Drengin and Altarian empires consistantly do well at this difficulty?
Thanks Tech! I bought the game about 6 weeks ago and usually play on normal or challenging. Today I got my first MASO win which was also one of my fastest games ever as well.
After reading through this thread I thought it might be fun to play as a very non-agressive empire where I use mainly diplomacy and culture to spread my power. The Drath were quite weak, so I bribed the stronger Yor into war with them and they surrendered their last remaining system to me :) [Message Edited]
